On the morning of 10/5 around 8AM the tel. number was saying "Awaiting a shipping vessel." by 10AM it was updated to "Enroute to prep center." Then I shot an email to my CA who informed me it had been on a ship since about October 1 or 2, gave me the ship's name and maintained late October/early November delivery.

My OC (web) says: Awaiting Transport
800# says: Vehicle being assembled - scheduled completion 10/5? I've sent my CA an email - but still waiting to hear back. I was thinking maybe we're all on the same ship, but I'm on the West Coast.

I had read others here talking about getting stuff installed at port saving money, so I asked about it with the dealer, and he said I'd save ~$650 by doing so. (The prices for both part and installation he originally quoted me were better than those listed on the checkout page of the accessories site, even though it was for the same dealer, so definitely talk to a sales person, don't just buy directly from the site!) In the end, I went with a different dealer (that I'd been working with before & was closer to me) who matched the prices. I'm paying: BMW Performance Suspension: $1,287 (part) $680 (installation @ port) BMW Performance Exhaust: $902 (part) $85 (installation @ port) The part costs aren't that much better than the accessories site, but the installation costs are *much* better. (As I said, though, the site's quotes for installation are really high anyway.) Another thing to note: If you're leasing, you probably won't be able to "residualize" (search the forum for more on this; basically, it's how much is considered part of the residual value of the car) all the costs, even though you can get it all wrapped into the total (which was my main goal). BMW has a sheet that covers what can and cannot be residualized into a lease. I was able to residualize only $400 of the exhaust. Better than nothing... As far as the monthly difference, that'll depend on various factors. I know there's some rule of thumb that says "each $X adds $Y to your monthly cost", but I don't remember what it is, and didn't do all the calculations, sorry! Good luck!

BTW, my dealer told me that if rates improve, I'll get the better rate.
Did you guys see the updated rates (don't know if they're "official", but they've seemed to be correct historically) for October?! http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440084 In Sep the rate (for a 135/36 months) was 0.0017, and for Oct it's 0.0013; that's a nice drop! I've got an email in to my dealer to confirm that'll apply to my transaction.

Ok, what's going on? I just called again, and the system says "Your vehicle is being transported to the port of exit". That was the status on 30 Sep, and it allegedly arrived at the port on 1 Oct!
Maybe they're getting back at me for calling too often...

Thanks Jameselee for all of the information!
That is very helpful. I'm still waiting to hear back from my CA regarding the suspension. My hope was I would be able to 'residualize' it, but that sounds like that is not the case. Bummer. I'm very jealous of the East Coasters as well. On the positive side - us West Coasters will be enjoying spirited driving in a few short weeks...while they will be dodging pot holes and black ice. Sorry that was just mean - but I couldn't resist.

Has anyone here had their status change?
I was a bit disturbed to see it temporarily go backward to "being transported to the port of exit" a few days ago, then return again to "at the port of exit, awaiting a shipping vessel". Has anyone experienced this? I talked to a person at the 800#, and he said it has in fact been at the port since 30 Sep and my dealer would have the best info, so I just sent email to ask him for an update...

i'm a newbie (like today) so sorry if this is breach but here's a comment to jameselee.
i just posted this: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...212118&page=35 it's what happens if your dealership isn't so nice about adjusting your lease payment when the mf drops from .0017 to .0013.

I'm pressing my CA -- who verbally told me I'd get a lower rate if one came out after my initial 0.0017 -- to give me written confirmation. He did say, "Don't worry, you'll get the best rate!" on the phone, but indeed, I want it in writing. I have a lot of confidence that he and my dealership are going to treat me well, but I'd feel much better having it in writing. My concern is if my car arrives in November (as I suspect it will) and the 0.0013 rate changes between now and then... Good luck!
