Aftermarket charge pipes are made of metal and do not flex time under boost.
The OEM one is made of rubber/ plastic and flexes like a bastard.
Some break when boost is turned up, some last.

They don't crack and pop off.

There is a noticeable progress in throttle response due to better flow of some aftermarket pipes. I have ER and I feel that. Stock charge pipe has a sound baffle which is good for nothing but some turbulance and it is eliminated by ER, which must be helping in the overall feeling of better response as well.

I've gone through 2 stock charge pipes. Completely cracked them at the seam where they meet the manifold. I've also "popped" them off at least 3 times where I could fit it back and didn't need a replacement. This was all within 6 months of owning the 1m. I changed to the ER and haven't had one issue.
