Hi Sjors,

I'm trying to keep a registry for Dutch 1M's.
Current situation is as follows:

14 x VO (of which 3 have been exported and 1 -although a BMW NL imported car- is still on foreign plates)
23 BSM (of which 2 have been exported)
11 AW (of which 3 have been exported)
=>so actually 10+21+8=39 cars on Dutch license plates (more or less)

I'll never sell mine. Its rarity will help maintain its premium price. I also think that history will reserve a special place for this little beastie since it marks a point where the M division's philosophy changes to an emphasis on turbochargers and lighter weight. Regardless BMW has to note the huge demand for a true drivers car and will surely capitalize on it with the M2. I betcha it'll have more HP and torque which will sell me on it for sure. Gotta love it when your rear tires wear twice as fast as your fronts!
There just are not that ,any copies, so i think it will always be high.

The e36 was a better/faster car than the e30 but he e30 still pulls a better price.

Some may argue the above but i just dont feel like i can build a faster e30 than a e36 m car without a full race car build.

Interesting Chris, that there are so many BSM cars over your way in comparison to the others, further that there are more vo's than aw cars too. In Aus (of the cars on this forum at least) it is more like 2:1 AW to VO and a hand full of BSM cars. Anyways.... BSM is the best colour IMHO

Check for example this list featuring 150 1Ms with Belgian license plates:

While i had 3 chances to buy a 1M......new and twice used the frequent answers i got from the 2 young sellers was.......the monthly $800-$1000 a month car(mortgage) loan was just to tough to meet each month. Buying a house and needed to sell....others told me they switch cars yearly and yet one mentioned he did not drive the car, it just sits...and the last was .....i had to trade it in and buy a Porsch Cayman S......In my case i did not buy one because the monthly grand was just tooooo much ATM and i have narrowed my serch to the M2 or the Cayman S....And the Cayman S in N/A car which i do like better than a turbo so...will see. In my case i will buy with a home equity loan this time the car loans are way to much for some of us..LOL. But the 1M is a beauty for those who can afford it.
