Convertible top wrinkles
I noticed my convertible top has a wrinkled look to it on my 135. It does not seem to go away. I had an e46 M3 Cab for four years and never saw any. The dealer is trying to tell me it's normal. Anyone else out there with this issue?

Mine also has a few wrinkles - but I think its because its cold out after folding down the top and the fabric hasn't had time to stretch back out. But then again, I've only had it a few weeks so it's hard to say... maybe the tension on the frame needs to be adjusted (if there is such)?

I had some initially but they tend to relax and go away. Presently I don't have any but I've only had it top down a couple times since November.

I have a shadow of wrinkles, like the dirt a grime has collected where it folds closed. It probably doens't help that most of the time I leave the top down in the garage.

It is recommended to keep top up all time when car is parked. Be also careful to have soaked top down, because it can issue wrinkles.

yeah have em too., seem to be more noticable and longer lasting in the cold weather.
Wait till spring see if there still there. ...btw, look at other makes/models of similar softtops, you will see same wrinkles..bimers,porsches,benz,audi,etc... |

My car is never parked with it down, and had never had the top down when wet/damp.... yet I still have some wrinkles. As for the cold weather idea... I live in Florida so that kills that too. The dealer keeps saying it is normal, but none of my 3 other BMW converibles had this issue!!!!!
Anyone else out there with any ideas? |

Mines tight as drum so far. Then again I can count on one hand the number of times I could take the top down since I bought it (it's been a long, long winter).
I agree with the comment above, please post a pic of the wrinkles so we can see. |

When you say wrinkles do you mean like a crease?
I have a few creases on either side of the front windows. I thought it might have something to do with the "moonlight black" optional roof, seeing it has some sort of metalic fiber woven through it. I have noticed that, after the roof has been up for a couple of days they are less noticeable. |

They really stand out on the moonlight black top. But ohh well...I take it as a badge of honor. It shows that I actually put the top down.

Mine is a standard black top and I have it too. I use the top down a lot so it might be why it is worse then some of you. Dealer is trying to say its normal still..... We'll see where this goes.
