New 135i owner !
I just picked up my new 135i last night, so I haven't been able to take photos yet.
2012 135i coupe in titanium silver DCT auto premium package black leather seats (non-sport) sat. radio w/bluetooth I wanted to keep it simple since I wanted the car for driving, and alot of the other options really jack up the price. Maybe the sport seats would have been better, but I wasn't too interested in all the M badged interior parts for the price. I live in the Bay Area so heated seats aren't necessary. I just donated my E30 (RIP), and wanted a car that was close in size for small parking spots, and with as much road feel and handling. I think I found it in my new 1. However the main difference is the ridiculous upgrade in power compared to my 1987 325. The DCT is the smoothest fastest auto transmission I've ever drove and it pairs well with the aggressive nature of this car. You can't tell when it shifts at all. Its funny because my new 135 feels nearly identical in size to my old E30 325. With the exception of the trunk being smaller. The interior and body dimensions are pretty close. After lurking a little before waiting for my new 1 to be delivered I decided on my first mods. I plan on doing the following mods first, mostly interior. -Stainless steel OEM pedals. -M dead pedal -PIAA Northern Star White H8 angel eye bulbs -128i Euro headlight switch for rear fogs and front fogs (I posted in the 135i foglight thread about help wiring front fogs to the switch. Anyone?) I'm excited about my new Bimmer. And look forward to enjoying this one for many years to come. Thanks for all the helpful postings on this forum. I hope to be a productive member and a 1ADDICT for life. Last edited by dko3tgk; 12-16-2011 at 02:48 PM.. |

Loving the LCI taillights! and those wheels, I've never seen them before. Are they the new OEM Sport wheels now?
The first thing I'd do for your baby is to remove the "BMW of San Francisco" sticker/vinyl on the trunk. And to also remove the plate frames. I like the clean look of the plates by themselves. I've always thought the BMW SF sticker looks ugly and out of place. Your always going to be smiling when driving the car, the power, the handling, the brakes, and best of all the LOOKS. |

I haven't had too much time to do anything to the car yet. I only had time to remove the window labels like the Efficient Dynamics label and the cancer sticker on the driver window. And install the floor mats. I plan on taking off the dealer logo from the trunk. On another thread they say use a hair dryer to heat it, but others say use Goo Gone after, or alone. Can I do this easily with Goo Gone only and no hair dryer? As for the plate holders, I plan on replacing the rear with my alma mater holder. And the front I haven't decided which one. I want a holder because too many people around here have crumpled front plates from parking. I didn't read beforehand about the low splitters in the front. I've already been scraping quite a bit with San Francisco's hilly streets and uneven driveway ramps. |
