I like your idea

But I am such a BMW fanboy that my DD has to be a BMW.

I will have to put a 911 in my garage first though before I go for the Italians. I never feel comfortable driving anything too flashy.

I realise I am coming in a bit late on the topic but I reckon the 1M looks great and has enough changes, cosmetic and mechanical, to justify looking at another 1 Series (yeh I know, M3 W*nker posting in the 1 Series thread but I did own a 135i for 18 months so I hope that is ok with you guys ).

We sold our 1 and bought a TTS, yes not to some peoples tastes but when you get a chance to pick one up new at $90k then you go for it ($120k rrp, probably says something about Audis maybe). Anyway, I sowed the seed with the better half "I found your next car" she sounded interested .

No Kev won't kill you. With baby B @ the back you want more space @ the back rather than a GT 3?

I find the criticism of M3 owners perceived 'superiority complex' in this thread moderately ironic given that every 2nd thread in this section is criticising people for sticking M badges on their cars....

My comments, and i cannot speak for BBK but i think he feels the same way, are aimed at the fact that most M3 owners cannot control thier urge to repeatedly drum into the general population of the earth that they own an M3 and they are very happy with it. AlpineM3E92's post was a breath of fresh air, he actually answered the question without saying his M3 was the most beastly beast in the entire world and that he would never consider an M1 while he had an M3 as its the most beastly car of all the beastly cars in the known universe.

Please, the world knows some of you own an M3, we all know you own an M3, WE REALLY DO KNOW.

why can't M3 owners contribute like Alpine and say what would the 1M have to have to make you step up to one. why not answer the question. this forum needs as many members as possible.

micky D, to help, M badges on non M cars is considered a fail by the majority of people here, i think they are a fail but also a good source of humor, M car owners wearing M jackets and caps and starting every sentance with i own an m car are in the same catergory.

So for me to step up to an 1M it would need to weigh in at 1350kg and be no more then $110k.

260kW and 1350kg. With that figure I might not be able to get into the street class of Australin Tarmac challenge in stock mode. They are putting WAY in the club class with the Porsche boxster spider.

I'm hoping I also speak for the majority here when I say that there was never any disrespect between 1er and M3 owners - we're all just having a fun little peck at each other. Or not

The lovely saleslady corrected me saying it is an 1 M series... yes I am interested but price is critical.

Have not spoken with WAY about the car yet. I am sure he has taken the car already. I will tick a rainy day to call him up asking him to show me the car

Just out of curiosity, I popped into Trivett today before work. Spoke to Sandra who told me that 'there is currently no information about the 1 series M in Australia.'

No pricing, no specs, no nothing.

Just depends who you speak to..

I spoke with the dealer principle who had just returned from Germany and he was well informed on the upcomming ///1M.

Never been a big fan of Trivett anyway, I was just looking to kill some time and maybe get some info straight from a dealer.

If in the future I become interested in the 1er M, I'll definitely be going to my usual dealership in Gosford.

My only dealing with Trivett has been top-freakin'-notch. Really, really impressed. Treated me bloody well.

I had to get Christine checked to see if she was driveable after my last incident. Took her to Trivett one morning, and i really was dressed down. Parked her in the front lot, walked in, told reception i needed a check. There was a guy at reception who drove my car straight away into the service dept, and they stopped and checked the car on a hoist right away.

Meanwhile, i had a muffin and coffee for free and after 5-10 minutes they drove it out and gave me the verdict. They were spot on as well.

The car didn't come from Trivett, and i've never been there before for anything, but they treated me really, really well for a young guy with a 1 series who borked his BMW. They would possibly be getting the next deal from me if I didn't have such a good relationship with Kloster BMW in Newcastle.

Yes - that is my biggest concern, but like richard - wouldn't be half bad to have one in the garage for a weekend drive!

Yup, there is a little info around...

For me personally - I'd consider owning one of these beasts, cost wise, I'd like it to be less than $120k, have most of the options - but I'm not sure if that is going to be the reality.

If aint supercharged then Its not for me, I will just upgrade my current ride.

Its a shame that they didn't go for a major mod like an engine upgrade.
