Black is definitely the new black
I don't know why this is on the e90 forums and not here but this is seriously worth a look:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412599 The initial photos are almost cringe worthy...I sure hope my car never gets swirl marks that badly! Otherwise, WOW jet black is stunning. Talk about meticulous cleaning.

Looks The goods. Having the same colour combo Black with Red I know how hard it is to keep clean. I have recently had mine expertly detailed.... A must for any black 135i as the dealership i bought my car had no idea and put buff marks in it.

where could i get something like that done to my 130i in melbourne? would love to give it that sort of attention (that it deserves).
also - how much would it cost? i'd guess $2-300?

Any car detailing place will detail for you - I would suggest researching, calling and asking what they will do for a full detail. In this case, you're looking at around 250-350. Or you can come to Sydney and i'll do it with no labour charge - just 'parts'. |

thanks for the offer, but i think if i drove there, the drive back would probably take the paint back to it's previous state
anyone have any recommendations for a place in melbourne for detailing?

never been there myself, but a lot of people recommend final inspection (www.finalinspection.com.au), and it seems like the guy there is one of the best in the country.

I'm in Brisneyland so the referral is a bit pointless, but to give an idea of pricing my guy charges about $300 for the initial detail and then $125 thereafter provided you get it done no more than 2 months after the last one.
He's got enough business he's not taking on new clients, and he does awesome work (he helped my car win "Best in class" for the year at Club Show'n'Shine). Each time he spends about 3-4 hours on the car. Of note, he said that it's best not to steam clean the engine bay, as the water vapour can get in and rust some of the delicate electrical components. |

Don't know if anyone else is like me but, if you want to really detail a car, aside from all of the excellent exterior and interior work those guys did, is to jack up the car and rip the wheels off and do under the guards and brake assy areas. Once the wheels are off you can really clean/polish them one at a time both inside and out. Only way to go in my experience.
