65W H8 AE's? problems??

So I just got some new H8's in the mail to replace the amber stock ones, just a few questions before I get started.

2011 135i w/ xenons

1. Does anyone know the stock temperature ? These are 4750k
2. I think stocks are 35W, any potential problems running 65W?
3. Any bits of advice on the install? I've read a bunch about people having problems with the bitch clips, especially on the passenger side. The one tip I've picked up is tying a string to them so you don't lose them. Any others?

1) I believe stock is in the 3000K range
2) They are 35W, they just output as much light as a 65W bulb. you'll be fine.
3) Have small hands, take your time, pay attention on how you remove the covers so you know how to put them back.

Well no DIY, I was loosing to much daylight to worry about that but I can say the h8 bulb install was REALLY easy on the 2011. The bitch clips stayed in place, and the cover on the passenger side was not cramped as the two vacuum canisters present on the N54 are not there on the N55. Total install time took about 15-20 minutes.

I can say that these bulbs are MUCH brighter than the stock AE's (atleast at night). The one thing I wasn't expecting is that when you turn on the actual headlights the AE's change colors and go back to the stock amber color. I'm assuming this is because it is drawing more power so the color temp. dies down. Here are a few quick pictures....

Anyone know if its normal for the h8 to change color when the headlamps are on? Like I said it goes from the hyper white as pictured above back to almost the stock color. Am I missing anything??

nope, it's normal. Only way to avoid dimming is going with HID's like Alpine or Camaross or LED's like Lux.
