25k mile 2009 CPO 135i. VERY squeaky brakes, worn rotors and alignment issues...?
I just bought my Certified AW 135i on Monday and drove it 1,500 miles back to Massachusetts. Needless to say it was one of the best two days of my life, such an incredible machine these things are. I just can't get over it and ended up stopping every 150 miles of the trip to get out and just stare at it, hahah.
Nonetheless, there are some really glaring issues that I'm surprised exist on a "CPO" car. An hour after I drove off the lot I noticed that the brakes squeal really badly and the steering wheel isn't straight but instead is angled left slightly, along with a subtle pull to the left on the highway. That wasn't fun for my left arm after 24 hours in the car going up the coast. The brakes I chalked up to the car sitting for a while not being driven, but it just got worse and worse the whole trip, and now it's so loud at times that it's really embarrassing coming to a stop. Ear piercing if you have the windows down. I took a look at the brakes and the rears are fine, but the fronts don't look like they have a lot of pad life left and the rotors have a pretty substantial lip on them. My question is, what does the factory warranty cover? I rolled off the lot with 25,000 miles(now have around 27,300 after the trip) and I'm sort of appalled that the brakes are in this condition. Is it as simple as rolling in and they'll fix this? My previous car was a 2006 Audi A3 2.0T which I bought in 2008, not CPO'ed and with only 22k on the clock and they had fitted it with brand new pads and rotors all around before sale, I expected the same from BMW! That aside though, the car is freaking incredible. This was the first picture I snapped after I pulled away from the dealer. Yeah yeah, instagram sucks blah blah.

Brind it to your BMW local service. They'll take care of it for you.
My CPO had a few issues and they were all taken care of under warranty at a different dealer. - Brakes - Hood alignment - 12V output Dont fret. Congrats on your new 1 series! |

I just had new rotors and pads done for $0.00 a few weeks ago under CPO, I thought i'd be on the hook for at least labor, but they stepped up to the plate. Find a good dealership and keep going there.

Alright awesome, good news to hear. I also have some occasional moisture in the passenger front headlight that is scaring the crap out of me due to how expensive the components are in there, but I imagine this may be harder to prove given that it only happens when it is humid/wet outside.
How long do they typically take to perform a 30k service and address pads/rotors like that? Since I'm only 22 I'm not sure how the loaner situation works, or do they allow under 25's to take them out anyways? Excuse my ignorance, I'm new to this whole warranty thing, haha.

Over 1 hour of LABOR=loaner Under 1 hour of LABOR=on your own Keep in mind this is not time spent at the dealership, it's time spent being worked on. My car was there from about 5pm on Fri-2pm Sat, and I did not get a loaner because the actual repairs took under an hour, they were just busy with other cars before mine got attended to.

Congrats and glad to had a good drive up the coast! sometimes the brake sensors rub and make a high pitched squeak sound. Yea, take it in right away. Sounds like the alignment might be off so have them check. You can also confirm if the steering wheel is in the correct position. Remove it...takes only 15 min to remove and put back on. Just use some elbow grease to remove the center bolt. There should be a small white line on the pinion gear for the wheel to line up, maybe it is off by a couple of notches. GL.
