I think I have decided between the CSL wheels or the Oz Ultraleggera. I have done a few more photoshops. Need some opinions

Photo 1 - Ultraleggera
Photo 2 - Black CSL
Photo 3 - Gunmetal CSL
Photo 4 - Hyper Black CSL

I am leaning towards the Black CSL

I like the CSL, but what do they weigh and how strong are they? Also how much? I am still not convinced that OZ Ultraleggeras fit...

I have been quoted $750 + $340 shipping for the CSL from http://www.europeanautosource.com in 18". They are heavier than the Ultraleggera but are probably stronger.

CSL are
Fronts 24 lb 10.8Kg
Rear 24.5 lb 11.1Kg

The Ultraleggera are
Fronts 18.6 lb 8.4Kg
Rear 20.8 lb 9.44 Kg

How do you figure that the CSL would be stronger than the Ultraleggeras? Original OZ wheels (no matter how light) surely cannot be weaker in construction than some Taiwanese knockoff of a BBS forged wheel? Great pricing on the CSL though!

Also I am assuming 8 inch fronts and 8.5 inch rears for the CSL? I am seriously thinking about it...

I saw some very nice Zone wheels today. Had just come off an M3. Would look brilliant on a white 135.

$3k / wheel not including tyres though...

Way, This guy has 19" version on a hatch. Not sure if the hatch and coupe have the same clearances.

I'm not sure I would get the 19" may stick with 18". What do you think?

I wanna see the CSLs on a 135 in AW. The rear wheel has an awesome concave-ness to it... Not a fan of the black car with the CSLs though.. I dont buy that whole blacker than black 135 look.

Are the CSL in 18" rep lighter than stock? 8.5 & 9.5 widths...

Here Kris, close enough. I really like it, and 19s don't even look too big! Sticks out a bit though...http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11738

Ok finally got them fitted to the car and they fit Woo Hoo

Sorry about the crappy photos but this is all I can do for the moment (off the phone)

I will try to do something better next week.

1. As mentioned they fit 8" ET 40 225 front and 9" ET 40 245 rear.
2. I don't think there is anything to worry about with the rears, but man the fronts are close to sticking out.
3. with the short run since fitting the ride is nicer, but corning I don't know tyres still have stickers and are still a little slipper (need a bit of a scrub).
4. Looks IMO I like them, make you own judgement.

Cool! Will 255 rear rub? Doesn't look like it in this photo. But I am worried that the hatch and the coupe may have different offsets.

I think 255 will fit, but I went conservative with the 245s.
It was all a bit of a gamble because no one would offer an opinion on the 9" rears.

Way I looked at it this way, there is that guy with the RED 135 with identical wheels but in 8" all round ET 40. Unless I am mistake the 9" makes no different as they are the same ET and therefore if he is running an 8" ET 40 on the rear with the same tyre width then this will be the same as a 9" ET 40 (other than the way the tyre sits on the rim flattens out a bit).
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe Pm that guy and ask for his comments on the 8", in the end you could also go this way and do 8" all round.

I just thought what the F&*K and spent the money, if it didn't workout I would have put the wheels on the market for a 3 series buyer

I'd go 8.5 and 9.5 in the rear, the CSL guy did without a drama! Wayne, that car is silver. I wanna see WHITE

Not the best Photoshop but should give you an idea of what it looks like in AW

Don't know about without a drama given that he has to stretch a 255 onto a 9.5 inch wheel. Can you get it in 9 inch I wonder? But you may lose the really nice concave affect by going 9 inch as you do on 8.5.

I'm tempted to go 19" however I'm not sure whether it will affect the handling.

Both 18" and 19" tyre setups with the CSL are close in terms of tyre radius and speedo accuracy

Original tyre setup
215/40/18 radius=314.6mm
245/35/18 radius=314.35mm

With 19" CSL tyre setup
225/35/19 radius=320.05mm speedo out by 1.73%
255/30/19 radius=317.8mm speedo out by 1.1%
So car will sit about 5mm higher at rear and 3.5mm higher at front

With 18" CSL tyre setup
225/40/18 radius=318.6mm speedo out by 1.27%
255/35/18 radius=317.85mm speedo out by 1.11%
So car will sit about 2mm higher at rear and 3.5mm higher at front
