2012 135i, help on golf tee mod!

Let me start off by saying this : Yes i used the search button, yes i have read the DIY instructions on the Golf Tee mod, so please no flaming / smart*** remarks, thanks.

I came upon a DIY thread on the golf tee mod stating that you have to go underneath the driver side rear to remove and plug up a wire to keep the flap open. I read in another thread that you can simply unplug the wire in the trunk, and have the flap remain open. I would much rather go with the 2nd option, but the picture that was posted got me a bit confused. Anybody that did the golf tee mod by removing the harness in the trunk care to explain how to do this, and post pictures. Thank you.

if want to save yourself some time.. just grab a zip tie and pinch the line. that's all you need to do.
Oooooor, get JB3 stage2 (jb4) and you don't have to worry about it, becuase you can set it to stay open.

It is not actually a wire but a hose. It is the black hose with yellow line. Just a thought that you might be looking for a wire instead of a hose. Hope this helps.

And that black hose with the yellow line is located behind the driver side tail light in the trunk?

I did the pinch-and-zip-tie, but "Golf Tee" sounds better.

I did it under to avoid all the problem of taking off the panel. It's just a two minute job.

I don't have any check engine light on. I did plug mine just to be sure that it won't get dirty.

I just ended up using a zip tie underneath the driver side tire. Turned the car on, the flap remained open. Found it much easier.

Good for you man. I just hate it that sometimes those plastic clips breaks easily.

I just used a good roll of electrical tape to seal it off. But I've heared of something that you can get from your local hardware store to plug it.

Wasn't trying to attack you was just trying to inform the OP that unplugging the hose from the trunk is just as easy

Oh no...I don't have a problem on that. I'm just saying how fragile those plastic clip are sometimes that I would rather do it from underneath.
