Mini Cooper S Checkmate
Hi Guys,
Sorry i just need some advice here. My sister recently bought a Mini Cooper S checkmate 2006 model which is apparently meant to be an R53 model (I dont know anything about mini model designations). How come on her vin plate under the hood it says R50?!?! I'm worried... Joe |

R50 is the chassis that was complied in Australia so I'm pretty sure all mini's get stamped as R50..
If the car has a supercharger = R53 (should be able to hear it/feel it!) eg: my E82 135i coupe has 'E87' on the compliance plate... no biggie. I think. |

They're all stamped as R50 - I've also seen some with the weight on the rego papers as 1598kg's..... (the engine capacity!)
It'll be pretty obvious if it's a Cooper not a Cooper S. (intercooler on the engine, central exhausts, power, noise) |

I hope their not getting charged on their yearly rego for the car weighing in at 1598kg!
