Blackline LCI's Installed on 2009 US Spec
One of the perks of living in Germany is being able to order directly for European BMW dealerships that have parts that you can't get in the States. I ordered these Blackline LCI's on Thursday, got them on Saturday morning and installed them. For everyone that was worried, these ARE completely plug and play as far as I can tell. No codes are being thrown or anything. Sorry about the dirty ass car. The weather pattern lately has been, light rain 10-20 minutes, pouring rain for 10 +/- 3 minutes, then clouds for about 10 minutes or so and then the sun will flirt with us for a second. Then the weather cycle repeats. So washing the car is not really an option.
Car is a US Spec 2009, built 11/08 Xenon and Adaptive Headlights. Not sure what else matters.

Great stuff mate, thanks for posting! I can't wait for my set to arrive soon.
You state your vehicle is 08 build with xenon and adaptive headlight option... mine is mid 09 with only xenons... so we'll see if the adaptive headlight option has a difference in the pnp results. Do you mind sharing how much you paid in Germany? Just so the other guys who want to order later on have a benchmark. |

It was 280 Euro, with my VAT form (Im military living in Germany) it dropped to 235 or something like that. About the same as regular LCI's.

Looks VERY nice Oreo! Hey... were the blacklines made from glass or plastic? That was mentioned in the group buy - but I find it hard to believe they are glass tails. I think this is my next mod(the new LCI's)... I just can't decide if the blacklines would look on on my silver 135i or if I should go with regular LCI's. ? |

They are plastic, not glass as previously believed.
If you cant make up your mind before Welt, we can take off the regular LCI from Swadness and take my Blackline off and we can put them on your car to see which one you like better. Only 2 weeks away!

Thanks for the offer. I can't wait until die Welt v3.0 meet. I think I will only need to see the clear LCI's and the tinted "Blacklines" in person to make up my mind. I can't wait too. Next weekend DTM @Hockenheim and then the Welt the next weekend!! |

Looks sick! WE can ASSUME that these will be PnP with any 1'er prior to 2012 by the looks of you not having to buy any harness/modules to get them to work on your '09. Damn BMW can't get their information about their products straight with regards to working with past models...

Yes, it is safe to ASSUME. It worked for me, I will update if anything happens and throws a code for some reason. Everything was identical except for the actual Blackline part. The part number was correct as well. You just cant order them from a US dealer.

This is a very useful post. Thanks for clearing up some issues. I hope the Blackline LCI GB put together by Satalite goes through successfully.

Depends on what gets here first. I want to have it all installed before Welt but it all depends on shipping time.

Oreo,
how about organizing the GB for all of us through Schaal in Bitburg? One large purchase and you ship them out. It's easy stuff. |
