Burnt car
Hey guys I'm not sure if this has ever happened before but my brothers 325i lit up the other night, it was parked at a shopping centre where my brother had parked it and went to the gym with his mate, only to return to find his car is engulfed in flames and the fire brigade were putting the flames out. They said that when they got there that no windows had been smashed, only the interior of the car had been burnt the engine and boot were fine.

Forget smoking. Does he keep coins in the ashtray near the cig lighter? A lot of German cars do not have the cig lighter on a fuse - and any coins can short out the wires. Another typical BMW thing is on older BMW's there is a spot inside the glove box where a BMW flashlight plugs in - this circuit also has NO fuse. And lots of people keep spare change for tolls and parking meters... only to have one coin get jammed up in there and cause a fire.
What ever the cause for the fire - its a "total loss" and hopefully your brother had full coverage insurance. Good Luck
