Tire options with M-style 68?
Currently running squared R888 225/45/17 on 7,5x17 et41 and 8,5x17 et50.
Looking for advice regarding fitment /rubbing/steering/overall feeling on 235/40/17. (R-compound) Will they work with the 7,5 inch rim in the front ? Is it a better option to get 2 more rear sets and run squared 8,5 inch with 7mm or 10 mm spacer in the front? Some one "bin there..done that" who can come up with some advice?

245/40/17 R888's will be good on the rear 17x8.5" ET50.
I suggest to get some 17x8.5 ET40 front rims as the 7.5" are a bit narrow IMO. Then you can choose either 235/40/17 or 245/40/17 R888 for the fronts. 245/40/17 R888 will be tight on the front even with camber plates and M3 arms, so it might rub a bit. |

Should be fine up front with a 10-12mm spacer with enough camber and a fender roll. 245/40 all around, since the R888 run wide.

I have similar plans.
Just bought four rear style 68's (17x8.5 ET50) from a recycler for a total of $350CAD. Im aiming for 255-40R17 Nitto Nt-01's as a budget track setup. Ive been running style 261's (18x8.5 ET52) at the four corners with 255-35R18 Dunlop ZII-SS tires and 10mm spacers in the front. I rolled my front fenders without any special tools, and shaved my fender bumper tabs with a dremel tool. I run on lowered Swift Spec-R springs and B8 dampers, with M3 FCA's, and GC camber plates. Been toying with alignment between -3.0 to -3.5* front camber, and -2.0* camber in the back. No rubbing, and less understeering, with still a little bit of outside front tire wear. Front Sway Bar is on immediate shopping list to help reduce roll on my relatively soft Spec-R front springs (203Lbs). Rear is awesome with 500Lbs springs, solid Manzo toe arms, M3 guide rods, M3 RSFB (bushings), and diff lock down bracket. My goal now with the Style 68's is to increase grip, reduce tire costs, reduce unsprung weight, and move on to intro level R-comps, after 3 years of intensive lapping on Extreme Performance Tires (RE-11, ZII, and ZII-SS). I feal Im good to go. Tired of gettting lapped by lighter weight Honda Civics and Acura Integra's on r-comps in the advanced and intermediate groups ... I may never be able to keep up in my porky 3400Lbs 135i ...LOL ...
