TSB # 65-02-09 Regarding Noise After Bass Hits

Someone posted about this on bimmerforums, asking if there were any techs that knew anything about this new TSB. I know of the issue and how annoying it is, can anyone add any information on what they do to fix and when it will be available?

Check the long thread several posts down.

It is available now as an ECU reflash, PROVIDED your dealer has switched over to the newest flash hardware (I believe its called ISIS?). My dealer has the hex files with the new firmware, but his new programmer is still not working, and the new FW can ONLY be flashed with the new programmer.

Hah. That's an excellent copy/paste job from my post in the other thread that already discusses this issue!

Good question. I haven't noticed any issues like that with mine, and I use my iPod all the time.

I don't really hear this sound. But, is this a reason for me to go in and have my software updated? Would some of you please give me your opinions on this. I am a bit of a techy junky, so things like software updates get me excited.

edit: As a side note, I have always noticed that my ipod interface on the iDrive is rather slow, as are voice commands, shortly after starting the car. Is is possible a software refresh could help these problems at all?

Same with me, is this a good reason to get a free software update?

I have noticed this before but trying to explain it to my dealer is going to be a pain.

Can I just give them the TSB number and say fix it?
