Intro - FNG with a new 135i
Hi gang, first post so I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm Ed from St. Petersburg, FL. We just got a 2013 135i a few days ago. It's our first BMW, so I have a lot to learn, which is why I registered here!
I work in IT Networking (Tampa), and my wife is an elementary school principal. My previous car was a 2006 ("NC") Mazda MX-5. It was (is) a wonderful car--very well made and reliable, near-perfect handling and feel. We really enjoyed it, and I can see myself getting another someday. But it was time for a change, and I was ready for something a little different (read: quieter on the highway ). Of course I still wanted good-to-great handling, rear-wheel-drive, and small. That narrowed it down quite a bit, especially the RWD part! So several months ago, I started doing nightly searches on Autotrader and the local dealers, for late-model used, low miles Porsche Caymans and BMW 1-series coupes. Didn't take too long to figure out that at the low miles point that I wanted (under 15K), the Cayman was going to be a stretch. Plus, I was coming out of a small 2-seater, and wanted something a little more different. Test drove a black 135i a few months ago, but we weren't quite ready. But it sure did plant a seed! We also tested a new 228i, which was surprisingly similar (that new 4-banger turbo has gobs of torque), but I still preferred the 135i overall. We ended up being very fortunate. We found a 2013 with 3075 miles on it, and it has pretty much exactly what I would have added (M-Sport package, Harman Kardon, Boston leather, sunroof, 7-speed DCT, even one of my preferred colors: mineral gray). Still trying to figure out the radio, controls, computer, and A/C controls (I've only driven it a few times ). I'll try to post some pics when I get some. Thanks, Ed |

We love the color. I would have liked a Deep Sea Blue also. This one is a CPO with warranty through 12/2018, which helped seal the deal.
Looking forward to learning more about them here, thanks!

Congrats Ed! Can't wait to see pics and I shall officially welcome you to the mineral grey family. Such a beautiful and dynamic color, though I love how it looks at night especially and low light when it looks quite dark.
