Fast launch with 6MT ...

I was wondering at how many revs do you drop your clutch when doing a fast start ??
3000 rpms ?

I think I usually feather the clutch in between 3-4k. Just find an empty street to practice on. That's half the fun!

Launching

I just went to the drags, of course this is different than norm streets. Concrete launch, VHT really sticky. I found around 2k rpm range was best and I managed to get 2.0 60' on stock RFT. Anything higher I would just spin/wheel hop. Less it bogged. Def dif surfaces will yield dif results, but our cars have Big TQ so compared to many cars, you don't need Rpms up too much luckily.

Like stated, best is to go practice to get idea of how car responds at dif Rpms.

Good luck!

Yah, thats prob a good place to start. I was couch racing when I mentioned 3-4k. I do know the higher rpms will require a lot of clutch feathering, which is not good to do often lest you want to replace it early. I just know what feels right when I drive my car, never really watched the tac much...seriously though, practice makes perfect.

Last night at the strip I launched around 3200 and quickly got off the gas. Basically the same thing i do from a stop light, just high rpm and quicker.

Street tires resulted in a 1.92 60
