Comfort Access (Yes or No) ?

Comfort Access (Yes or No) ?

Well I about to order my 330, and one of the last decisions I am going to make is Comfort Access. I have read most if the posts so far about this but figured I would check one more time.

For those that do not have it do you really wish you had it?

And for those that do have it, is it really that more convenient than pressing the unlock button?

Is there really much of a benefit to have this option?

For $500, I do not mind pressing the key pad, and I do not mind placing the fob in the holder either.

What do you all think?

Thanks!

get it! here's why i like it:
1. it's cool. very cool.
2. it's convenient when your hands are full and you don't want to fiddle around with a key
3. it's stupid that now the 3 doesn't have a real key, but you have to put the fob in the slot, and comfort access gets rid of the stupid factor of the fob/key.

I love Comfort Access!!!

I was faced with the same decision-making dilemma not too long ago. I had always used my key fob and had placed my key in the ignition in the past. No big deal, right? Wrong. Having Comfort Access allows me to open, close and operate my vehicle with the key in my pocket. I reach over to open the door handle, and it opens as I am lifting it. I get into the car with Starbucks Coffee in one hand, and my jacket in the other, and don't have to reach into my pocket to find my key. I just push the Start Engine button. When I leave my car, I touch my door handle (on either side), and it turns off my stereo, locks the car and sets the alarm. If I hold it down longer, it folds the mirrors inward (premium package), then closes my windows and sunroof.

Of all the options I have with my BMW, this is the one I love the most.

By the way, with comfort access, you still get the key fob and can use it the old fashioned way (by pressing the buttons).

I'll 4th what everyone has already said. The only gadget option that I got on my e90 and glad I did.

Another thing, it's $455 not $500 and I think the best value option available.

You'll regret not getting it, when you keep hearing people talk about it. Just look at all the posts from people who bought cars before Sept. wondering if it can be retrofitted.

Yes

Absolutely must get CA. It's a bargain @ $500. It's $1000 on all other bimmers.

The only issue I'm having with my CA is proramming the second FOB (wife's) for seat memory. Settings for radio/temp./mirrors work but not the seat. Otherwise CA is an absolute must! Has anyone mentioned that It's COOL?!

I guess the same could be said for automatic windows, automatic garage door openers, automatic door locks, and other items we now take for granted.

Yes, I could do without it, but would I? NO way, it's a luxury that's the next best thing to having a personal butler open the door for me, and it is so cool to be lazy and spoiled every now and then.

I actually waited (extended the lease on my old car just to do so) for the Comfort Access option to become available before ordering my car.

I think it's sort of lame that BMW doesn't just include it as standard, and my guess is that it will be in another year or two. I know others feel the same - it's just silly to have the button there and still require to insert the key. Either do it or don't do it, right?

With comfort access, it's a nice luxury - indulgent, yes, but still a luxury. Without the comfort access option, the button is just gimmicky.

So, I've added it to my list for when I order my E90.

Ditto with whats been said above. I'll be taking delivery of my 330i in under 2 weeks. It didn't take me too long to decide to order CA with my car. It is a luxury but its also a high end vehicle and not that much more of a cost add on versus other options that are available and considering how much I am spending on the car already. Plus I thought I'd regret not getting afterwards. I'm sure I won't regret getting it.

No, it was low priority for me. Money wise I'd rather have heated seats.

I am with SCA; I would like to have it, but $500? It ought to be standard. My guess is they will piss me off and include it in the Premium package in 2007. Oh well, 20 years from now we will discover that it causes testicular cancer.

Okay, it's weird, but it makes me happy every time I walk up to my car, open the door, sit down, push to start, and all without ever reaching in my pocket for a stupid key. This is the way it should be. How long until I can get comfort access for my garage door and, for that matter, my front door!

I don't shoot on film anymore and I don't play pocket pool to open or start my car.

When making the options decision, I came up with lots of good justifications for everything else. I just never talked myself into it.
Now that I look at the payment difference, it wouldn't have made a difference really.
worth the "cool factor" I bet
