@ Twisted - Thanks its a small world now. Yep this keen without any cars. All talk about interior trim colours will cease soon!

@ Mturbopower1 - I love the way it drives. Rides well on M tech dampers, proper tyres and lower Hartge springs. Corners flat with better ARB's. Great traction and cornering with Quaife diff. Goes like stink with 265 creamy horses all the way to 7k redline. Stops like a bastard all day long due to AP 6-pots. And its a great place to be with a quality interior, great seats, iDrive nav iPod and all that jazz. Very very happy!

your car is looking great, I'd go as far to say that is probably the best hatch in the UK really insane.

just wondering where you got your AP racing brakes from? Ap racing don't actually make a 1er kit, so did you get reseller to make up the kit for you? Also how much did they cost? I'm thinking of upgrading brakes but don't fancy the BMW performance ones.

Cheers

Thanks a lot gangst :smile:

AP Racing brakes were supplied and fitted by Birds who have done all the work on my car - they really know their stuff. The kit is "off the shelf" from AP but I don't think they list it online. 356mm x 32mm floating discs. Relentless power :thumbup:

I've just had the car repaired after a minor rear end shunt, needed new bumper, carbon panel and exhaust. Flipside is I now have the BMW Performance silencer (muffler?) which sounds fantastic, more like an E46 M3 now.

Nice car Rephlex! Just one quick question, what do you think are must have parts of your mods?? Also what's your opinion on the rear CF Diffuser compared to the standard one? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. From my point of view the essential mods go in this order;
  1. Quaife ATB diff
  2. Non-runflat tyres
  3. AP Racing brakes
  4. Suspension
  5. Silencer (for the noise!)
However, Birds are working on a new suspension kit with Bilstein UK that will address problems we have identified with existing OEM and aftermarket setups. My car is being used for development. They should have something ready for sale soon.

All the other mods are cosmetic and for vanity. I love the diffuser because it makes the car look so different and gets lots of attention even from non-petrolheads. It is very expensive and therefore hard to justify when it delivers no performance benefit whatsoever!
