Because approximately 1 billion Golfs are sold and they want a piece of that.

Mixed feelings about this car, I like the idea of hot hatches but not the looks on the M135i for the most part. Definitely don't like the front section & headlights.

Will be interesting to see how the A45 AMG stacks up.

I agree. I really like the hatch, but I hate the front of this one.

When the audi s/rs3 and a45 amg's.. Heck even the golf r, are such better looking cars.. The only thing the beemer has for it is that it's a turbo six... Then again the merc is specced at 265kw and even tuned n55's and n54's usually only hit 250? And are rwd.. If they make another rs3 it's at least 250kw and awd

Really i'm just super excited for the best bang for buck in the 2nd hand market 5yrs from now hehe (and which one has the best aftermarket, though golf and beemer are already years in front lol)

Pity the m135 has the most hideous headlights.. If they make an e87 front end conversion, there'd be so much win.

i do like what they have done with the EV, why couldn't they put this bonnet on instead

http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-31347_7...t;post.gallery

Sorry... off topic, meant to add, i don't like the new bonnet they have on the 1's... if they added the EV bonnet i would be more tempted...

The E87 is ugly, we forget how polarising that car was (is?) simply because we've lived with it for a while, and I've certainly grown to like it's "character", but still, it's an ugly car. I'm not sure hot hatches have ever really looked good. For me, it's the RWD that is its true advantage, although I'm sure there won't be an LSD so $5k extra before it's drivable.

The F20 front end styling seems ok on a wet misty night with glare from the headlights.

I for one actually like it

I know it's widely regarded as an 'ugly' car, but even without mods.. Well i saw it and wanted it straight up, and it only gets better looking with mods

Why $5k for an lsd though? Theyre really that exxy for the 135i?

I prefer the E87 to the F20.

Hideous imo.

Plus fitting though, so low 2k's for my Quaife install.
Near enough to $5k I believe for 135i owners with MT.

$1500 for the quaife (according to the forums) $700 for install? dealership or something?

If he was driving a 1M, she'd still be it.

I reckon the F20 definitely looks the biz in M-sport guise. I saw a new Estoril Blue 125i M-sport at Doncaster the other day, I'd happily take one
