Questions before I do my Koni/H&R install
Was going to put my suspension in this Sunday. I'm installing the Koni yellows with H&R sport springs. I intend to put in Ground Control camber plates at some point in the next couple months as well as Powerflex subframe bushings that are on backorder right now. I know for the camber plates you have to at least drop the top of the front strut down and drop the rear carrier to heat/melt out the stocks and install the 2pc bushings but should I wait to install my suspension until I have the plates/bushings? Also how much settling should I let the suspension do? I am planning on driving up to the SF Bay from San Diego on Monday evening so should I put a few miles on the suspension and get an alignment before I leave or should I make the 500 mile journey then get an alignment?

Alignment first. If its off and somethings not right on the suspension... 500 miles can do a lot of damage.

Holy... Yes get an alignment before you go. Dropped on sport springs your alignment will be way out of whack.

I'd wait to do it all at once.
For camber plates you have to remove the whole front strut, compress the spring again, put on the camber plate then reinstall. So you'd be doing it twice and paying for alignment twice. Subframe bushings will also require a new alignment. Order of operations: 1. subframe bushings 2. install rear suspension parts 3. install camber plate on front suspension 4. install front suspension 5. get alignment |
