Is there a driving advantage to having these installed? Your foot touching metal verses plastic. They look great, I never had aluminum pedals on any car. I might go for these also.

The ones that I have installed on my cars have helped with my "heel and toe" (match throttle downshift.) Since I work for the dealer I have to add the disclaimer that BMW NA makes no such claim about their products.

Yeah the pics actually sold me on it as well so I contacted carguymo today and they're shipping out pretty quick.

So a big thanks to Templedogg and carguymo!

Of course the words "BMW" and "drillbits" don't go well for me so I'm going to have the service guys at the local delaership throw them on for me before I take delivery and see if I can get them to not chrage for labor.

I need the socket screws for the plastic dead pedal and plastic accellerator. Where do I find socket screws like that?

I did this mod today. Was a real pain getting the rubber inserts into the aluminum frame (had to wet the rubber down to make it more slippery) but the rest of the install was no problem. These things look awesome. Thanks for the great write up and pics.

I did Mine tonight and I have to agree the rubber was a pain to get into the stainless steel I pushed it into place using a Pick tool. The hardest part was drilling the screw holes into the top of the dead pedal, and screwing the nut on the lower right hand brake pedal. I didn't use the templates I just held it in place marked the screw holes and Drilled away!!

Did this mod yesterday. Getting the rubber into the stainless was a bit of a pain and the top two dead pedal screws were a major pain but I persevered. I noticed my brake pedal is slightly forward of the clutch. Maybe I just didn't notice this before. I only had the car two days before I swapped the pedals.

Got mine in as well. Same problem with getting the rubber inserts in, but I didn't have any issues with the top screws on the dead pedal. I actually used my coreless Dremel to drill the hole, except for the brake of course.

since I just installed these, thanks to this guide. The advice on which drill bits was nice as it took out the guesswork. No pic as it looks exactly like all the other
