Whats an E42 ratio? I imagine thats the australian version of 50/50 ratio of e85 and 98?

I must admit my car really accelerates hard now in 2nd gear, with the rear end wobbling under the power but jeez it shouldnt be scaring you prior to E85!!

I've heard of a few high HP GTR's running nankangs and achilles as they're a great budget tyre (?)

I know nankang have some affiliation with yokohama, i recall there tyres used to be based upon some old yoko compounds/tread design and believe they're a budget division of yokohama.

Having said that I've always used michelins continentals bridgestone yokohamas goodyear and the only budget tyre i've used was kumho ku36's and sumitomo & they were pretty bloody terrible...

IMO (im no expert!) you would be much better to run a set of oem 17" rims as the 20's would have extremely stiff sidewalls and thus reduced grip when launching. Obviously you've achieved some good times down the strip in the car, small details like this (17" tyres) will help you become slightly quicker & break into the 11's

e42 is 50/50 in Australia

I had a few issues with my car and we finally sorted it out, it was making power up top
just not making it how it should.

Its so crisp and responsive, makes power way down low with a touch of the throttle.

I never ever driven a car this responsive, this comes close to my R1 I use to ride.

The only time you need better tyres if you break traction, I don't have that problem as I don't get any wheels spin at the track.

You don't need 18 or 17 to pull good times, yes it makes it easier but its all down how you car is set up.

I've driven on just about every high end tyre, including slicks over the years and a lot of the brands you mentioned are over rated and they are not worth the price tag asked.

Its not only the tyre, its suspension/setup/wheel alignment.

The problem with the 135i is it runs to much negative rear camber and has to be corrected to be able race at the track.

A good suspension setup will have a greater positive impact than just changing tyres.

BTW Ku36's are semi slicks and yes they are ok for the road if you warm them up properly and be able to keep them warm through spirited driving.

They are pretty crap for normal driving, you need heat in them for them to work properly, driving normally on the street aint going to cut it.

The good thing about nankangs if something happens to them they will replace them.

My tyre of choice by far above any other brand is the Nitto Invo for street use and occasional track work, nitto are now the OEM tyre for some Toyota sports suv in usa.

Everybody has their preference of tyre, mine are a bit unconventional and price has nothing to do with it, I don't listen to paid tyre reviews as they will always think the more expensive is better in most cases.

These nankangs are pretty awesome and absolutely no wheelspin.

First was 12.4@116.52 mph
Second was 12.2@115.38mph
Third was 12.3@117.19mph
Fourth was 12.3@117.35mph

Very consistent runs with every run had 1.9 60 Foots

This was my fastest tonight and my slowest was 12.2s @ 116mph

I was consistently running 12.0s @ 116mph all night

Look at the sixty foot on these nankang tyres and consistent 1.8's all night

Technically yes but not calling it that yet.

When I can run 11's consistently that's when we'll call it.

Need to do something to supplement my fuel system my new HPFP and stage 2 LPFP is barely keeping up.

That's surprising, my ptf cobb E50 tune easily meets HP & LP fueling demands!

Have you had it on the dyno with your new round of mods?

Not yet to busy with work.

Its keeping up but the pressure dips at points where I'm uncomfortable with it.

There was some other issues to crept up in the logs which I'm going to sort out this week which should be good for a another couple of tenths.

Well I got something coming next week which will solve my fuelling.

Going straight e85 with the new solution and should see mid 11's on stock turbos and no meth.

Watch the Australian forums for a full write up.
