Thinking about going to same size tires all around...

...my 09 135i. Will 245-40-18's work in the front?

Depends what wheels you use. But if you use the correct offsets you'll either need a fender roll and pull or to run some negative camber. A combination of the two would work also.

As a simple bolt on fitment, I would not recommend that. You may be able to make that fit with some work though.

Id think that 245/40/18 would be too tall.

245/40 is a bit tall but not crazy. It will be an interesting task to have clearance everywhere with a 245/35 also. Not completely out of the question and it will even come down to the tire brand you choose.

245/40/17 is very different than 245/40/18

I'm aware of tire sizes

A 245/40 17 is comparable to a 245/35 18. You mentioned that size in your post I was helping prove your point with an anecdote.

Ahh sorry. I misunderstood. You would be surprised at how mis-informed people are about tire sizes and wheel fitment. Sorry!

Ive been on the forums long enough to have seen most of the ridiculousness.

Dont worry about it.

I run 245/40/18 -2 Camber on front with KWV1's and fender roll. I have had RS3, and NT01's on and It has damaged my bumper, quarter panel. So Expect to run and cause damage down the road.
