We can take delivery before March 22nd.
This is the quote from my dealer when I asked him if my car comes in before March 22nd if I can take delivery of it.
"Dealers may get demo cars and can not sell demos till that date or 30 days after they get it. You ordered your car from factory. It is yours and when it arrrives it will be delivered to you soon as soon as pdi is finished. Thank you Tiho Krtalich" So I know others have heard differently, but I hope mine comes in early March because I am holding my dealer to this quote and taking it! |

Interesting.. This why BMW USA may hold them at port or prep center.
I hope using pdc means I can pick it up march 8!

my car went into production last week, and my dealer said it should be ready by february at the latest. he also told me that BMW will most definitely hold the vehicle until a specific date (i am assuming around release date)...

The Porsche dealers were saying the same thing when the 997 came out. What ended up happening was that they kept the cars until launch and then released them. I hope your dealer keeps his word, let us know when you get it

I believe the cars will be held at the Prep Center.

yeah i agree ... and notice that really isn't inconsistent with what his dealer told him. That is, "arrives" could mean "arrives at our dealership."

I just got off the phone with my dealer. They said that the release date will be between March 20 - 26. The cars will be held at the port until release date. Once the release date comes around the cars are shipped to the dealerships.
Even though my car will finished on the 21st of January, I won't see it until the end of March

Yes, it looks like BMWNA is getting the word out to the dealers that there will be no "early" deliveries.
