bmw warranty
do you guys know if the bmw warranty cover leather seat damage (from normal wear and tear)? the left side of my drivers seat is getting worn from coming and in out of the car. A part of the leather has worn so much you can see the white through the leather..if that makes any sense

According to your profile you drive a 2008, so I imagine (without seeing any pics) after three years you're beginning to see what happens to BMW leather after so much wear and tear. It's why many opt for leatherette as it supposedly lasts longer.

If they don't cover it (Most wear and tear items with the exception of Brake pads are not covered under the maintenance plan) I'd suggest maybe using a leather dye and condition the heck out of it. I've manage to stave off wear and tear in all of my cars with leather seats by constant conditioning.

I use Doc Bailey's black tinted leather restorer. It works awesome if you happen to have black Boston leater seats. It's less than $20.00 and works like magic!

As some folks seem to scuff the leather and others don't, you also might try to modify the manner in which you get in and out of the car. I usually drive in jeans and have been lucky enough not to have driver seat scuffing in any of the 5 BMWs I've owned.

Today I took the 1er in for reg. maint. and brought up the issue with my scuffered drivers side seat bolster. The dealer is having the scuffs redyed professionally tomorrow at N/C. The SA said BMW will cover only one re-dye, and anymore is considered wear and tear.

Got my car back from having nrmal maint. Done and also had the seat bolster re-dyed at n/c. I must say it looks absolutely perfect. Seat boulster looks brand new, and the dealer told me it would be tough to match, as the color is terra. I'm pleased and glad it was taken care of, as it shoulnt be so easily scuffed at 27k miles.

I also had the dealer dye early wear in the past on my e90, and before that (unrelated to BMW) my g35 coupe where the dealer changed the entire bottom foam and leather.
I like how in general dealers are doing their customers "right". I've never been denied any reasonable coverage I've asked for of my BMW dealer.
