Can I get some love...?
I recently was involved in an auto accident (9/6) in my new AW 06 330i, it only has 285miles on it . I was coming home from the BMW service center for an alarm installation. I was parked at a stop light waiting for the light to turn green when this older lady backed her 2000 BMW 528i Stationwagon from where she was parked into the driver side door of my 330i  . I was in between two cars, she said she looked over her shoulder and saw the first and last car but did not see my car because I was right behind her. She accepted full liability and I had witnesses from the car that was behind me. The car behind me even said he honked at her to warn her cause he saw her backing up without realizing there was a car there. The damage was pretty substantial as far as cost is concern, the auto bodyshop (Costelli & Pardini's Auto body) gave an estimate of $4K, because its a new model car the door has to be ordered from BMW. It's currently in the shop waiting for the adjuster to come and give his estimate, the insurance has already claim full liability so what ever the cost maybe to fix they have to cover. I am hoping she will come out of this looking like new just as the day i drove her home. But deep down inside I know she's not the same anymore . I will post some picture of the damage tomorrow.
My feelings go out to those who's car was damage in anyway, I know how you feel and it's very disheartning. Even though you are carefull with your car there's no way you can prevent other drivers from not.

Aww that is so sad
I crashed my first car when i was 16 and I know how you feel. Be glad it wasn't your fault, because knowing that you completely destroyed your baby is an even worse feeling. Hope all goes with with repairs.

sorry to hear that man....that really sucks!! if the body shop is good, people won't even notice the difference. The bad thing is that you will spend the first couple of weeks staring at your new door trying to notice the difference.

Sorry about your car but at least the insurance will cover everything.
How long is it going to take to get the door? Will they give you a loaner while it's being fixed?

Doesn't hurt to try to recover money for diminished value as well. When you try to sell your car, it'll show up.

Sorry to hear the news! Some people that drive are certainly a hazzard to others. I am always careful whether I'm driving my kid's beater or driving my new e90 that is on order. Accidents can be avoided if people take some extra time to be cautious. Good luck with the repair! It should be fine and dandy when it's done.

Sorry about that crash! Im sure your baby will be fine!
I had that happen to me too, the exact same situation.. I was at a stop sign, and this man in a f-150 backed out of his parking spot into my car.. well i couldnt move also, i was inbtwn the cars. But i saw him, so i was honking like a mad woman, and still nothing. So after he hit me, he saw that i was young (it was my 1st car), and tried telling me that he didnt hit my car. I couldnt believe this jerk-off! I had glass from my turning signal all over the street! And he asked, ok prove to me that i hit you, i told him hey asshole look at the pavement!.. ok now look at my light!.... Finally he gave me his info after arguing with him

If they replace the whole door you'll be fine. White matches nice too, so you should never see the difference. I would still argue that water can get in, and so it's not 'drivable'.

Thatīs relatively harmless damag. The sills havenīt even been touched. The door took the whole hit. With a new door, sheīll be as good as new. Donīt worry.
