Best rim specs for a stock m-package suspension

Hey Everyone,
I want to get new rims for my car (CSL style) and want to know what rims specs (ex. 18x8 ET35) will work on my stock suspension. I don't want any spacers or camber or anything else, just a clean swap. I need to know what specs would work. I want 18" rims but can do 19" too.

Would Front: 19x8.5 Et 35 and Rear 19x9.5 Et40 work?

Thanks,

I would shoot for higher offset on both front and back...you will likely rub on both the front and back. Try et45 in front and et50 in the rear. VMR makes some CSL style offsets for our cars. Check out the VMR post.

I have VMR VB3 18x8.5 ET40 front, 18x9.5 ET45 rear on sport suspension. It will occasionally rub through dips and over bumps when I have 3+ adults in the car, otherwise all clear. Tires are 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 Federal SS595.

If you want to run stock tire sizes then the 45 front/50 rear combination is good advice. If you want to run something larger then the answer is 'it depends' and we need more information.

OP, the recommended fitment for the 1er is going to be 18x8.5 ET45 in the front with a 225/40 and 18x9.5 ET50 in the rear with a 255/35. You can also get away with the ET45 in the rear, but it will be a tighter fit with a 255 tire.

My suggestion:
18x8.0 ET42 with 225/40 on Front
18x9.0 ET52 with 255/35 on Rear

John01 nailed the best size question IMO. What would fit with work is a completely different question. Somebody is probably making the sizes you mentioned work, but it does not fit properly.

Most run worse fitting setups, mine is listed in my sig. I ended modding my rotors so I could get my 9.5 et45 rears to actually fit properly. The problem is finding wheels with the specs we need.

^That's exactly the issue. The 1er is such an awkward car when it comes to fitment that it's difficult to find wheels that are the unique specs that you're actually looking for (Not just working but fitting properly too).
