Oh re: stocking up.

There is shelf life on road tyres. Please ask what the manufacture date is. If it is 09 model, then you can keep it for 2-3 years before putting it on. There is a number on the side wall saying ... etc "4206"

"4206" means it is made 42nd week of 2006.

I will not buy any tyre 3 years old to keep. Coz if it take you 2 year to wear it out. You will be using a 5 year old hard tyre!

Hope this helps.

Yea. I check the dates on arrival and 6 out of the 8 tires were around 30th week of this year and the other two were close to start of year which is very good IMO. I think tirerack go through alot of tires so u can be assured that their stock rotation is very good.

If there are any of u wanting to get tires local, might try Taleb tire in SYD. They are also very competitive in prices and can send interstate.

Lol are you waiting on a set of CSL wheels from Alufelgen too?

Apparently they are "hoping" they'll be ready to ship out by the end of next week, 18 December.

By the way, how many days did it take for your tires to arrive from tirerack? They shipped out yesterday. When should I expect?

That is very good indeed. Any thing less than 12 months are very good.

I'm a bit confused with the process. So far tirerack confirmed my payment on Monday and shipped out the tyres on Tuesday. I have also been emailed an invoice. So assuming it takes 3 days I should receive it on Thursday? What is the process with paying the extra fees for tax etc? Do they contact me?

Also, how do I go about tracking my tyres? I've clicked the link in the email sent from tirerack and it asks for my order number but it doesn't seem to work?

Thanks for your help.

Are these in 18 or 19?

IF 19: Also are you getting the CSL's in 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 9.5? What rear offset are you getting? or 19 x 8.5 all round?

Can you use the Tariff concession if you import rims alone (no tires)?

Just an update. Fedex contacted me today and my tyres have arrived. They are just clearing customs now and looks like I'll be paying some 'extra fees'. They will get in touch with me later today.

If your tyres and wheel is made in the US (like the one for my Kluger last time), they are able to give a letter stating a free trade agreement and no tax. I got stack of paper work on the package with one saying that.

Very interesting, but none of the performance tyre will be US made.

Yeh such a shame. I think it will be worth the wait or we are the victims of a Nigerian Online Scam and they'll stretch this out forever lol

Gah, in need of new tyres. Possibly going to stick with RFT's (just for the convenience), but will NOT stick with the Goodyear NCT5's. They're shit, like all of the Goodyear RFTs.

Any tips over at Bridgestone? I'm also considering that if i got non-RFT i'll go with the Eagle F1s (Goodies) or P Zeroes.
