Walnut beware !
Regular readers will know that i have had a few issues recently with my 135, namely rough idle.
After new plugs (didn't work) 3 new Injectors (didn't work) carbon clean with Walnut (surprise surprise didn't work !) I still have a rough idling car and i am starting to get a little pissed off !!! However - more importantly , i nearly suffered a major accident this week as the car experienced something of major meltdown caused apparently by stray WALNUT SHELLS in my throttle body......... The car began shuddering violently , throwing multiple codes via the dash and nav panel. I struggled to hold the car at the traffic lights with the foot brake and when the lights turned green the car had NO power and only slowly began to build speed , hit the next red traffic light and the car again begins to surge forward erratically under brakes Manged to limp to the dealer (which was less than 600m way - lucky hey !) an found the accountant of all people still in the office at 6pm (must be counting all the stealer cash.....) Anyway the next day - i phoned to be told that i have a malfunctioning throttle body , probably caused by stray WALNUT shells left over form the carbon clean. Left the dealer and the car appears to run fine when HOT , but still has a ROUGH IDLE when cold.......... I really don't feel BMW-A take enough interest in the product support side of the BMW cars and this is must be impacting customer retention. I am constantly bombarded by emails & phone calls asking me how i feel about the "experience" - how about just fixing the damn car BMW .......................... Perhaps i should just drive to Sydney and get them ADVAN folks to take a look at it |

If the car under is under warranty, give it to the dealer and demand a loan car of similar spec until the issue is fixed. Tell them you need it for work, and you need to drive clients around so they don't just stick you with the smallest hatch they have.
The only way to motivate them to fix this issue quickly is by costing them some money. If the car is out of warranty, it's time to cut the stealership umbilical chord and find yourself a good independent workshop. |

Your dealer runs two 1M race cars - you might want to do a quick search and PM the right person.

I cant see how the walnut blasting has done this, as the inlet manifold is completly removed away from the car, unless someone has completly stuffed up.

I would have the dealer pull the intake manifold and replace all the(intake manifold) gaskets - again. They did use new gaskets right?

Mate if I was you I would be tearing the service manager a new a33hole, as the car was clearly unsafe and could have easily caused an accident.
Mention that you're unhappy that they haven't checked the car after servicing and have done some substandard work on what is a premium product.. |
