anti trap code drivers window help...its winter

Hey guys/gals...
I purchased an 09 135i a few weeks ago and im new to the BMW world...
Im in iowa..its cold and today i stopped at the gas station..came back out opened door and like normal the window goes down 1/4 inch and never closed when shutting the door...the window will NOT go down or anything.
I have searched this issue all over but have only found situations that the window will go down but not fully close.
What can i do??
Need to fix asap as its snowing and damn annoying
Thanks!

I had the same problem on mine. Eventually it rolled down when I pressed the switch, and made a grinding noise when I tried to raise it back up. I only has the car for about a week and it was going in for maitenence anyways, but it was the window regulator and the dealer gouged the shit out of me (~$500 installed).

I'd recommend not to touch the switch because if the regulator is bad, once the window goes down it won't come back up.
