What is M TwinPower Turbo?

Has anyone got any idea what has been done to it to make it different to the turbos on the Z4iS N54 especially the spec are the same? If there's nothing - then wouldn't it be deceptive marketing?

I know there was work done on the drive train in terms of cooling, and its lighter flywheel, but that has nothing to do with the Turbo itself.

I strongly agree. A comprehensive press release or televised interview is needed with Dr Segler or someone representing the M division which specifically details the differences between the Z4 and 1M versions of this engine.

Not just the "Results" of the supposed changes, e.g. , better air flow, more boost, etc., but how they accomplished the improvements, not generalized statements like "the M division spent alot of time testing the 1M".

Garage List
Gabe @ Bimmerfile has hinted that more info on the engine is forthcoming.

Maybe the Z4is engine was developed by the M division and has been used by the Z4is as a "test mule" for the 1M? lol It dosen't seem they thought that far ahead. ( If that was fact though it would legitimize it as a built from the ground M motor).

1M seems to be a fine car IMO. I just what to know what exactly it is that I'm buying, if I buy one.

Looks like the 335is and Z4iS both feature a lighter dual mass flywheel too...

I was under the impression that the "TwinPower" branding was exclusively for the new twin-scroll turbo and not the twin turbo setup found on the N54. If they're using it for both, then that's awfully confusing, because I've only seen it on the new models like the 2011 135i, 535i, etc.

Flywheel is, from my understanding, the same one found on the 335is and the Z4 35is. I'd be really surprised if the engine was in any way different from the Z4.
