Keeping 1M in the garage but still having fun

I'm a big PC simracing fan(Grand Prix Legends, Richard Burns Rally, Live for Speed, iRacing) but the new kid on the block arrived last november, Assetto Corsa. It's an early access, but you already can join in.

599XX, F40, 458, Zonda, E30 M3/GrA, Lotus 2 Eleven, Exige, KTM X Bow, M3 civil, M3 GT2, Z4 GT3. The cars feel so realistic physically.

And since this morning update 0.5.2 has a 1M in it!

This is so much fun. You can choose between streettyres and semis. Understeer floating into oversteer.

I just love it. And I wanted to share it with fellow 1M/sim/racing enthusiasts!

But: To compare this to GT5/6 (and I don't mean graphically) in terms of FEEL/ real PHYSICS and gameplay, it's like comparing in real life a 1M to an Audi RS3

Haven't driven any other game simulators,or an Rs3.Gt6 with my wheel,pedals and car seat does hit the spot on a winters night around Nurburgring and Spa

I love Asscetto Corsa! A most convincing physics model.

I'd like to ask the OP how he would compare the real thing to the "simulation" as far as handling. What did they do right/wrong, what was over/under emphasized etc?

A month or so ago AC came with a 1M S3 version. Shorter gearing, dropped suspension and about 400BHP. Adjustable turbo boost.

If you pump up the boost to lets say max(450 ish BHP) the engine blows after about 2 laps. I already told the AC devs @ AC forum, that's not the way it is irl

There also now is a Pagani Huayra, and Niki Lauda's 312T Formula 1 car from '75.

EVERY car drives different. Even the FFB for any car is different. Coming from let's say a 458 and getting into the 1M S3, the steering feels heavier(just like 1M steering is relatively rather heavy irl)

About the rest of the 1M ingame : Sometimes it has too much understeer(vs real life even on semis) but looking at the speedometer you're already going a tad too fast. Power/feel/soundwise it's almost spot on imo.

Only one thing: Puting FULL power on 1 nanosecond too early on dry tarmac @ 100kmh(60mph) in a bend in 3rd gear can result in going sideways like it has 800Nm, a tad exaggerated. It will do that irl on wet surfaces or with wintertyres in summer.

I give it a 8.5/10 (vs irl)

But it still is a beta version.
