I just called WheelSTO for availability of the KW Street comfort CO's. They are available in europe for the E87's, so I believe that they will work for the E82 as well. I'm pretty sure that I will be ok with the 1/2-3/4" drop that they will provide. I really am not into the tucked wheel cars.

To answer your question, I really don't know. I do think that the extra 2mm that an et45 will provide would be enough provided the tire choice is appropriate. It will be close if you are slammed, however this is not an issue for me for the reason mentioned above.

In the end, do what you feel comfortable with. It's only money...

I'm definitely in with higher rear offset. Want to fit 265 or 275s in back. There is room for it with the right wheel.

Btw, M3R1, I'm dropped with 9" wide wheel ET41 in rear, and was could not fit a 255 without rubbing. I do not think the 4mm will make a difference if you are dropped. I think you'll rub or need to roll the rears. 245's all the way around now and no rubbing. I want 245/275 ideally, but will settle for 245/265. The front offset on the 18x8.5 sounds good though.

4mm or just under .160" is a lot... I do agree that 265's or larger would be a problem. 245/275 would be nice though, I ran those sizes on my E46 ///M...

Remember on more thing, running the same aspect ratio as 225/255 in 235/265 the rolling diameter increases as does the width. This also plays against us when trying to lower these cars.

I'm actually curious as to what Rota will say...

Glad to hear someone else chime in about the offsets.

I think you have to go with a conservative offset and something that brings you as close to the stock look as possible.

Seeking the most aggressive offset and widths is just going to lead to trouble for you as the vendor, some people will like it and others wont. For those wanting a wider track you can do spacers..

Nice to be seen.

I ran ZHP wheels with 275 Hoosiers A6's on back with no modifications or rubbing, last year. A6's are fatter than normal street tires. So, the ZHP wheel (interestingly Style 135) should be about right, offset-wise. They are only 18x8.5 ET50. Taking into account the extra 1/2" of width of the 9" wide wheel (1/4" come into play when talking about offset), we're talking about 6mm needing to be added, to re-center the 9" wide wheel, as if it were that ZHP..

All of that means that the offset for 275's to fit easily is ET56 on a 9" wide wheel.

265's should fit with ~ET51, using that same logic.

So... Zoeb? Did you hear back from the engineers regarding max offset? I know there's a huge market for wheels that will fit 265's with no problem. (not just racers)

Here's a couple corroborating pics:

Very nice Larry. The thought of getting 265s under the back of this car has me pretty excited, not to mention I love the look of these wheels. Hopefully we'll have good news from the engineers about the offsets.

I really like these wheels. as a matter of fact some of you might know I originally intended to setup a group buy with these wheels. The only problem is 45 et offset does not work for me. I'm running KW V2 and really don't want to go to stock suspension height. If I see a higher offset count me in FOR SURE!

Sounds like we have 5 here easily, with the higher offset! The problem with the "I'm in" is the wait. People drop out over time.

We should verify the higher offset, and get a timeframe, ASAP. Zoeb, what say yea? Deposit in hand - available today. What's the magic number for the rear (without compromising safety)?

Hey xxxxxx,

There are some guys who want 18x9 G Force for the BMW 135i.

It will be 18x8.5 front and 18x9 rear

What is the highest offset we can do in the 18x9 rears?

is +50 possible?

+50 is not necessarily what we are doing, I just asked the +50 because if +50 is possible then anything lower than that is possible as well

That'll easily get you a 255 width tire, but probably not a 265 without modifications. As I see it, there's a lot of choices for people who want 255's already, yet virtually no decent choices for people who want plug-n-play 265 & 275 fitment.

This wheel could be a major player, if it allowed for that.

"You have 265's? No rubbing and no spacers??? Where did you get them?"

Btw, do these wheels accept BMW centercaps?

due to both the high offset and concavity, these may not be center cap compatible at all.

We'll keep you updated.

Thanks! I'll make something fit the center area. I just want to make darned sure they are safe, and have enough material on the mounting pad. I'm also 1oo% "in", if so, and we get the +50 fitment.
