128i 6Mt Shift Knob Replacement

I just finished replacing the shift knob on my 6MT 128i as the old one looking worn. A couple of things I wanted to pass on:
1. When you order the stock shift knob it comes with the attached leather boot. I was told by the parts guy that you cannot order just the knob.
2. When I separated the boot from the knob on my old one I understand why. The plastic tabs that hold the two pieces together are quite flimsy and once apart it is unlikely they will ever fit quite the same again. At least mine won't.
3. The new knob looks identical to the old one but is significantly heavier.
4. The swap was quite easy.
