4 weeks at the dealership

Well my car has been at the dealership for the last 4 weeks. I booked it in for a check as it was idling funny in the morning.

They identified the issue as HPFP and replace the unit. 4 Weeks later....................... still at the dealership. The information provided to me was "something is slowing down the communication between the car and the programming computer" "Programming continues to fail – it looks like we will need to replace a control unit to get the software to load"

Anyone experienced this before?

mine was at the dealer for about 6 weeks recently due to a faulty batch of timing chain tensioners. The list of parts replaced runs to about a page and a half, and amongst other things includes the crank, balance shafts, piston rings, all of the timing drive gears. In total it was 216 'units' of labour, which I think is about 54 hours?
