FBO, what next!
Looking for some insight on what mods to do next. Will start a build thread soon. I bought my car 6 months ago CPO, bone stock.
Started with BMW PPK1 + BMW PE, thought I'd end there, nope! JB4 came next, played with map 1 and realized it wasn't THAT much faster than PPK1, so I needed a downpipe and a chargepipe to support Map 2. Now I've gone and done an ATM intercooler, flex fuel wires and pushing 4 gallons of E85 on map 5. Car is smoking fast (for me anyway). Virtual dyno'd 360 WHP (not sure how accurate those numbers are will goto a real dyno soon). So as far as engine mods, I'm essentially done-- the car is a lot faster than stock. Pure stage 2 is an option and while it is nice I don't think I NEED 500whp on this car lol. As far as comestic I did the BMWP grill and BMWP spoiler. I bought blacklines but I liked the stock LCI lights better. I've spent about 6 grand upgrading this car already and after putting every down on a spreadsheet I'm looking at another 3-4 grand to get it exactly where I want. Mod list includes I'm debating: M3 tri stich steering wheel BMWP mirror caps (carbon fiber to match wing) OSS Designs AE setup or LUX? OSS is local leaning towards that, although more expensive but the AHL errors of LUX or other PNP AE scare me. OSRAM 5k CBI hid bulbs BMW Performance suspension or KW v1/v2 MSS tires 313 wheels If it was YOUR car, which way would you go next from those listed? curious!

I'd do suspension and tires together first this is all assuming you're on either style 261 or 269 wheels (because those two are very good looking already). Although I haven't done any suspension work on my car + I'm still on runflats, I know that a nice suspension would do wonders for most cars and that includes the 1 series. Heck, my friend's Mini Cooper S evolved a lot from simply suspension mods and that's not even increasing the car's power and still on runflats. I'm too scared to touch the lighting on this car if I am not going to replace with OEM/OE stuff.
M3 wheel, while nice, isn't completely necessary. It's more of a "cherry on top" kind of a thing for me. I feel the same about the mirror caps. If you don't have 261 or 269 wheels, go for the 313s next. It is the perfect matching wheels for the non-M E82 (among the OEM ones). |

If I were you... I'd do what I did.
Get a Walbro 255 pump from Steve and a backend flash from Wedge or BMS. An E70 tune will really wake things up. Then grab some APEX wheels with some 235/265 tires. You should probably think about an LSD and suspension at this point.

Thx for feedback, suspension seems like next logical choice
