Overboost function

Ok, so you get some over boost for 7- 9 seconds... how long does it take for the overboost to re-charge?

How many times can this be used???

I think it has to do with heat more than anything.

I'd like to know more about the function as well. 7-9 seconds seems like more than plenty though for most situations.

I would like to read some technical articles about it.

How does it activate? How does it sustain the power ? Does it increase boost pressure etc etc???

I read that it activates when at WOT, and I do believe it does increase boost pressure temporarily, hence the need to stop it. As Sam said, then heat becomes a factor.

That being said I'd still like to read a technical article as well.

Can someone please post a technical article or a link where more information can be learned about the inner-workings of overboost.
