I still can't decide: E46 or E90, which looks better?

I really don't know which one I prefer. I like the E90, but I've always been a strong fan of the E46. The more I think about it, the more difficulty I have making up my mind.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) I'm not biased because we have an E90 an still have an E46, so I'm not just going to pick one because it's the one I have.

i like E46 rear, but the E90 absolutely kills in the front. the rear just doesn't look like anything special.

what do you care, you have both!

I know which one drives/handles better. It's not the E46.

The E46 with ZHP (Performance Pkg.) is still a sharp car.

The E46 is and always will be a classic beauty! Tough call.

Unrelated: I have the same exact foyer window. But you have a prettier front door.

Most of the houses on the street have that window in the foyer. Our front door is one of the nicer ones, but one of the new houses they're building across the street has an even nicer one.

If you had driven the 330Ci more, you would have proably liked it! It also would have handled better without flat spots on the tires.

That being said, the E46 had one thing going for it that they got rid of for 2002 and you were one of the lucky people to experience it... Tanin Red leather. Everything went down hill after BMW stopped offering it. In terms of looks, your 330Ci was probably one of the nicest. The only thing I can think of that would have topped it would have been if someone special ordered a ZHP with red leather.

E90 Hands down, sorry E46 your days are numbered...

Just kidding, both cars are equally brilliant and they shall be.

I'm so sick of the E46 design, anything looks good at this point. they're more common than civics over here, no joke.

So, how long before we can expect the same feelings about the E90? (isolated, overweight, too slow, overpriced, horrible resale value... )

This is the BIGGEST reason why I got my E90 over E46.

I still love E46 design, honestly, its my favorite out of the 3 series.
but the fact that I see more E46s than Civics, I preferred something new(at least for now).

Boo! You must be confusing me with those at.......

Since last May I have thought that the E90 was more exciting to drive than the E46. Prior to receiving mine I had logged around 700-800 miles in an E90 and mostly in a 325.

BTW, keep in mind for the past 6 months I had been driving a 3.0 E53.

haha, so true.

i think the e90 makes the e46 look dated, though not as much on the facelifted e46. e46 still a nice looking car.

when you have an e46 next to an e90 the e46 looks a bit dated but never the less its still a great car

None of the above. Despite having an E90 myself (itīs just a damn good car), The BMWs looks donīt do it for me. The E46 Coupe was nice, but thatīs it.

For a truly beautifull small sedan, thereīs only one place to go and thatīs Italy:

The Alfa 159 ROCKS :

Despite all that, and even if the E46 design is better than the E90, one thing is for sure: The E46 is starting to look dated.
The next 10-15 years itīll primarily bee an old used car. Much later, it may become a more desirable classic than the E90, who knows. But right now, espec. in sedan form with the black plastic insets and the horizontal bumper lines, it simply looks old.

What I find really funny (despite really beeing in love with the looks of the Alfa) is the following:

These are offical press relase fotos from Alfa Romeo. And even for that occasion they couldnīt find a car that was properly put together. Look at how the underside panel of the dash under the steering wheel does not fit / is not properly mounted

You really have to be in love with an Alfa or owning one will drive your crazy.
