hello everyone who subsribed to this thread. I am willing to do the halogen to xenon conversion for the 1-series as i have done for 30+ E90 Halogen owners on E90post

My conversions are ALL plug and play and will yield NO errors. My prices are very reasonable and look at my Itrader feedback for my credibility. Please email me or PM me for more information

Hey Andy any pictures of previous works you've done or even the new lights you have for the 1 series?

What's going on Addicts!!!
I'm just catching up with halogen to xenon conversion threads, I feel like I learned from most of you a lot already but still need some info,
I got '09 128i Coupe and in 3 days I'm flying out to Poland where I was originally planning to buy fully loaded directional bi-xenon euro headlights. After getting familiar with retrofitting process I simply gave up on the idea of going the high route but I still want to get older solid bi-xenon with angel eyes and retrofit it with aftermarket ballasts.

Right now the questions are:

Does anyone know the website where I could see the evolution of 1 series headlight?
I know from 2004 to present those lights were face-lifted quite a few times and if I could see the whole lineup I might have a better idea what's more doable for retrofit?

Where I could find a headlight pin map?

Is front bumper removal required prior to swap out?

What aftermarket hid application would you recommend?

I managed to get both my housings for $600 total. my HID kit ddm tuning was $70ish. it does not throw codes. I am using a d2s bulb, which fits in a d1s socket and is much cheaper.

my only problem at the moment is i have a lot a flicker with the hid lights. They have a couple possible solutions for this at ddm tuning. The BOW 3 code eliminator and a wiring harness to get power directly from the battery. im currently waiting for the BOW 3, hopefully it works.

When im done ill have OEM adaptive headlight projector housing, after market ballast and bulb running with no codes. The adaptive feature will not be active. As cool as it it would be, not worth the cost.

Because the ballast will be installed on the underside of the headlight housing, when you open the hood, everything will appear OEM and Ill have HID with angel eye for about $720.
Hey! Im in the process of doing the same exact thing,
did you manage to wire those without footwell module??

I did not do the xenons in my car instead I just swapped out my halogen bulbs with HIDs (yes I know this is illegal but I do not have the money to buy a xenon housing). Anyways I am running a digital ballast with 55 watt bulbs. But the problem I seem to be facing is getting rid of the warning code on the dashboard that causes my right side HID to flicker and turn off. I am currently using a warning code deleter from ddm, but I can only use one. When I used a wcd on both headlights, the right one always explodes (went through three pairs). If I use the one wcd on the right headlight it flickers immidiately and turns off. So as of now I'm running a wcd on the left headlight. The right side turns on when car starts up, but if I do not keep the car moving the HID flickers and dies and I get the code. In the summer this wasn't too much of a problem because once the HID stopped flickering it would stay on, but now because of the cold I am having a lot of trouble and it constantly flickers and turns off at stoplights any help is appreciated.

Hold on and wait for those Jlevi housings they said might be coming out! I can't wait lol. I haven't even gotten my car yet and I want to order those lights lol. I'm assuming with HID kit and the housing it'll be around 500 tops? That's not too bad for my. Plus some LED kits hmmm can't wait...

Even with the housings, if you get HIDs, your lights will still flicker without a device that can eliminate the warning code, thus my issue that I am having in my previous post.

Apparently resistors fixes this issue.

Give it a shot?

No unfortunately not I'm waiting for the Depo xenon projector housing from Jlevisw! Or maybe I'll go for the same setup as you for the time being if we can sort this flicker out!

Just a thought, I'm not familiar with how the WCD that you bought work, but I've heard that if these resistors/capacitors are wires incorrectly (reverse poles) then that can cause them to explode. Are you sure you were wiring the right hand side correctly?

Please let me know how those resistors work out for you as I'll go ahead with the same setup if it works

Could you please post some pics of the lights on and off of your current set up! Would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

Tru, but I'm pretty sure they've thought of that issue and will include a code eliminator. Lets hope that's the case.

Anyone use the DDM Kits? I was looking to get a set of those for my bike. And I like how they have Lifetime warranty on their hid kits. That's more reasuring.

I bought my HIDs from a local dealer, the brand of the HIDs are called Digital HIDs they were 150$ but this was a year ago i'm sure they're cheaper now. They are 55 watts and the color is 6000k which I love it is similar to a clear white almost but no xenon white. I'm having trouble uploading the picture w/o the HIDs sry. And before anyone tries to flame me for them being illegal and extremly bright, yes I know but this is only temporary until I can buy the housings and get angel eyes

Thanks man, looking good!

thinking of the DDM 35w myself, as people complain the 55w causes too much glare. It's kinda evident from the pics as well I think.

Looks good though! Now to wait for those housings with angels!

How did the resisters work for you with your kit? Can you tell me what exactly you got for that? I just got my kit in the mail and I want to get them in.

Anyone still looking for E8x OEM Xenon lights?

I am able to supply original BMW lights, coming brandnew with bulbs and ballast.
These one would be statics, non-AHL.
