Make your 1er look like a 1M ???
So... I was poking around ebay.de and came across this Kerscher bumper kit. It is to make your 1er (e87, e81, e82 or e88) to look like a 1M but you do not need the wider 1M fenders. They even have a kit with fog lights in case you have a 118d/120d or 125i/128i! Or they have a fog light delete kit so your BC won't give you errors. lol For those of you who want the 135i or 1M look.
So... what do you guys think? Kerscher-tuning.de http://www.kerscher-tuning.de/stylin...Spoilerschwert fog light delete Their cf lip... |

I love it. My only question is cost, and shipment to the states. I'll check it out and see if there's anything on Ebay here.

Ha... I like it! I actually came across the same thing as I was searching for a seller for the blackline LCI's on eBay.de.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. It still looks awesome and I love the fact that it doesn't require the wide body. If went with that I'd most definitely have to go with the VMR 710's.

there's actually an interest thread in the commercial/fs forum for this:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=662717 it's neat, but I'm wary of faking the funk *that* hard. |

$12-1300 is not bad for whole new look. Just wait until someone in the states copy that. Remember 10 years ago for E36 M3 front bumper? Now u can get it for $100 or so from DDM tuning. I can see it happen soon.

Posted in the commercial thread for this bumper, and here is the pricing I got via PM:
Quote:
Nearly double the price than on the Kescher website. The shipping is slightly cheaper from Supreme but not nearly enough to offset the huge mark-up. I'll be ordering directly from Kescher when it comes time to pull the trigger. |

Supreme gave me different information a few weeks ago. Maybe they increased the price? Here's what they sent me:

I prefer the look of a regular 135i to the ///M in all aspects except for the rear of the car. Honestly, the fenders on an ///M stick out too far and look ridiculous. The front bumper on the 135i looks better as well imho, just knock out the slats and grills and it looks like an E46 M3 bumpee. The ///M does the rear tens times better than the 135i however imho.

Hm, those prices look alot more fair. I got my quote a couple weeks ago as well, maybe they've since decreased it. When it comes time for me to grab them (I'm getting LCI Blacks first) then I'll firm up the price quote and let everyone here know |

You guys are crazy spending that kind of $$ for a fiberglass bumper cover. I love the look but fibercrack looks like garbage after a few months. + from the photos in the for sale page it's missing the washer holes, wheel well liner mounting points and grill mounting holes (it looks like). And what happens to your brake and cooling ducts?
What's going to happen when you get 100mph+ of air ramming the back of your wheel well covers that aren't even attached to your cover on one side? |

I saw one of these kerscher 1M bumpers today at our Welt 3.0 Meet. I must say it was pretty nice. I will post the pics tomorrow. I am dead right now from all the driving and walking this weekend!

you can delete the headlight washers just by unplugging them. many people complain about how useless they are. some cars even come optioned without them. The brake ducts are not very functional in actually cooling the brakes. The 1m doesn't have brake ducts but rather the ducts run air to just the oil cooler and second radiator. I know the 1m doesn't have the same brakes as the 135i, but I have had a few conversations concerning the brake ducts with some of the guys at ER when I was making my fender liners for my widebody front end and they too noted they are pretty useless. The ER guys also got rid of the brake duct and instead use it to run air to their oil coolers on both sides of their time attack car. A lot of people have purchased both their sport and dual oil coolers and used them with stock brakes without any noticeable impact on braking. As long as you are able to trim your fender liner to let some air flow through the bumper so it doesn't force your liners into your front wheels and if the liner still bolts into the bottom of the bumper, you will be fine. |

In Germany cars equipped with Xeon headlights MUST have headlight washers AND be self leveling. It is a German law. I guess you could delete them... but I would think some states might say something about it when it comes time for your safety inspection. ? Btw... the 1er I saw at the Welt car show yesterday with this Kerscher bumper cover had halogens. Not Xeons. |
