You can check out COBB's recommended list of mods, vs which map is appropriate, right on their website.

That being said, I would go with Stage 1 aggressive.

Stage 1 aggressive only if you are running 93 octane or greater.

I think it would be better safer if you would read more to answer your questions and start to use flash tune on your car. Unless you dont care.

I have read plenty on this forum, too many different modification packages to keep up with, everyone is different. The reason I got the COBB AP (waited until it came out for the N55) is because I used to have it on my Subbie WRX many years back and it was no issues, COBB knows what they are doing. I wont be one of those who starts creating its own maps, I will stick to what I get and thats it, dont need more. But thanks for your advice, and yes I do care about my car.

Not saying that you have to read all forums etc... When you want to download map next to every map there is requirements what hardware and fuel you need to run it. That mean you did not even look to the maps shelf on COBB site and asking the question here...

Enjoy your tune and make some logs.

Ok so I got the AP on Friday and went to install it and guess what!!!??? ROM no supported, it says that I need to update me DME at the local dealer. Friday Cobb was closed probably for well deserved holiday long weekend so I will be calling tomorrow to find out what to do???, I hope is easy as sending them my ROM and they send me back the proper maps or so, I just do want to go to the dealer just to ask them to update my DME, I think that will raise questions of why?!?

Under your options try checking for beta firmware.

On the other hand: https://cobbtuning.zendesk.com/entri...55-ROM-Support

Maybe best to update the DME.

Yes, I dropped off the car at the dealer this afternoon, asked them to update the DME and to look into a stalling issue I had a couple of times this year while in traffic (I think is the DCT) but that was the excuse for them to take the car, all I hope is that the do update the DME to a ROM that it is supported by the AP. We shall see.

Help with interpreting datalogs please!

Hi, first time poster on this forum. I've got a 135i..which is the second N54 powered car I've owned and loaded with stage 1 maps from the Cobb AP. However, this is the first time I've datalogged it, because I want this one to stay reliable!

It's an 09 135i...all stock, running on Cobb Stage 1 Sport, stock throttle, with Husky 94 octane. 48k kilometers with original plugs. I've loaded the datalogs into virtualdyno and I'm wondering a couple things that hopefully you guys at Cobb can help me with...

1. why am I getting throttle closure around 4000rpm? It always happens, on both sport and aggressive maps, using Husky 94 or PetroCanada 94. I've read this is due to overboosting, but is that the case here??

2. why are my IATs shooting so high past 5000rpm? Is that normal or are the turbos being overworked? I know I don't have an upgraded IC (not planning on it either) but didn't Cobb plan for these maps to be used with stock IC? I'm not using the stg1+ maps...I should add that I am at 3500 ft above sea level. Does that matter?

3. How does the rest of it look? What's the next step here?

Thanks!

Help with datalog, please

Hi,

Can someone knowledgeable look at my datalog and see if there's anything that looks wrong/off, please?

Looks fine to my relatively untrained eyes - boost looks good, no throttle closure, cyl1-6 timing correction dead on 0 after 3500 rpm, and AFR settling 12ish after 3500 rpm.

To be honest, I don't know what "acceptable values" are for timing Cyl 1 and LTFT bank 1.

Car: 09 135i on Cobb Stage 1 LT - just went from ST to LT. only mod is AfE Stage 2 sealed intake

Thank you!

Cant see the log right now at work... but from what you told me you are good. If all of your cylinders are at 0 accross the board under WOT, you're set.

Your log looks good overall. IATs are rising like that because the factory intercooler is horrible. I mean totally insufficient. So while the Stg1 maps are certainly not going to hurt your car, I can't stress how much of an improvement a good intercooler is. Just huge on this platform, well on all turbo systems.

The throttle closures could be caused by any number of things, at first glance I didn't see any boost overshoots. Did you have DSC all the way off?

Log looks good, a little noise in cylinder but nothing of concern. No real need to log LTFT on Stg1 pump gas maps IMO, there is absolutely no reason you should be leaning out on a conservative map like that. But it stands for Long Term Fuel Trims, put as simply as is possible its one of the tools we look at to determine how well the car is meeting fueling demands. Vital for E85 maps, not so much for pump gas on Stg1.

Gotta be honest, I don't know the timing curve for Stg1 either lol but nothing looks out of the ordinary.

Cool thanks man.

I think the noise from the cylinders gotta be the craptastic gas on base. It says 94 but I HIGHLY doubt it' s over 91, if that.
There are better gas off base but not really sure about paying British gas prices (like $8.20 a gallon right now) and car has 16k miles so it shouldn't be spark plugs anyway.

Running 135i N55 which is build in April 2013 (EU version, left wheel, manual). Would COBB flash work with it's DME?

I've read somewhere here on the forums a post from about 1,5 months ago that it was not ready yet.

Thanks for the update!

So I just purchased a COBB AP from a member on here. I have Full 3" catless exhaust including downpipes and a DCI. Which tune can I run/should I run?
