i watched that over and over and I still am hesitant. There definitely was a weird flash though. Anyone want to elaborate on this? I have personally seen it in a Gallardo (which was awesome) but didnt think this car would have that same kind of set up...then again I am not knowledgeable what-so-ever on the situation so feel free to let me know if this happened.

lap times at Willow Springs
Sure, I think I could have squeezed a little more out of each of the cars. However, I was trying to be consistent in all three cars for fair comparisons as I received ONLY one lap that was on the clock. Now, with that being said, you can look at the times we clicked off last week and compare them against some other cars that you might be familiar with: http://www.fastestlaps.com/tracks/willow_springs.html. I do not feel too bad that we were just a tick off of Steve Millen's time also in an E92. He has had a ton of laps at Willow. Do not get too distracted in our lap times as I hope I brought to the table just how much fun this car is at a pretty cool race track. As with the M3, the 1 Series M is easy to drive fast. By the way, Jason did an superb job of bringing of a detailed description of an awesome new addition to BMW's M fleet. Not only can he write...he can also drive! I look forward to getting him at one of our M Schools!

Willow springs
I have been running my 335i out there for a couple of years and have been very excited to get my 1M in about 60 days and bring it out to Willow to see what improvements I can make to my lap times. I have run the track in 4th gear except for T3,T4 and T5 in 3rd gear. You nailed it that T2 really puts your grip on the edge of disaster. I have pushed the DCT button always, but not totally deactivated on the 335i because of no LS. God knows T8 is scary caring huge speed, and T9 and get you seriously injured. I have Dinan Stage 2 and exhaust and the torque is unbelievable. I am planning on doing the same to the 1M. I have always been flat over T6 and T7 but lift not break into T8. It is interesting to hear you break before entering T8 and then flat up to breaking in T9. I believe that the fastest times come from what your doing between 7,8, and 9. All the turns count but those can make a big difference. Thanks so much for your review and comparison of the car.
