So do you think they'll open the ECU box?

Nope, but I'm out of warranty anyway. They did ask me if I'd like a lift to the train station!

Just picked up my car. FUCKERS!!!! Now I've got a glove box rattle!!!

Not to mention the gearbox is now funny...slow to upshift and when it does it's jerky has hell. The fuel economy meter was going haywire - I was stuck on 15.3L cruising down a hill for like a minute. My average fuel economy before was 9.3 and is now post dealer sitting on 17.1. WTF?!

Calling them first thing tomorrow. It is very annoying to see the Merc dealership Service dept with an orderly amount of cars in the morning and an empty carpark by evening. The BMW dealership is overflowing with cars all day >_>

Don't the autos adapt to your driving style? The box probably reset itself when they disconnected the battery.

Let us know how you go... And which dealer this was.

sounds like brisbane bmw to me. I have not had a great deal of confidence from them in the past. They'd fix one thing and then something else would go wrong. Either they employ a bunch of newbies or they "create work" on purpose. I have not book my car in yet, I am half tempted to not bother as I don't want to go through the whole brisbane bmw experience again. maybe about time i try westside or motorline.

Yep, Brisbane BMW. I don't have confidence either. You tell me I have an oil leak that needs fixing but neglect to tell me my gearbox will reset itself, bugger you! As the other dealerships are a bit far out, it'll be Coastline BMW from now on since they're near my parents in Caloundra.

Okay so the rattle was just the rearrangement of my glovebox stuff and the gearbox has settled down but it still feels different. It better be adapting...

My car is affected. I've been having issues with mine for a while now where I'd be on the highway with cruise control on and the car would constantly and randomly feel like it would miss. Not enough to throw a code but certainly noticeable. It's similar to the feeling of the car being hit by a sharp gust of wind. I've changed the coils thinking one was a dud but no luck fixing the problem. Hopefully this recall issue is the cause as the next port of call for me to change are the injectors (and that gets a bit expensive - and no, my car wasn't on the injector recall list).
