Hong Kong just past Admiralty, if I'm not mistaken. Bloody awful to see, but the guy looks like he laid the powaah down in a stupid way under rainy conditions. His DSC must have been off. I'm in rainy Oregon and I never test my luck with this thing if it's wet. As some of the HK peeps on this board can attest to, there are a lot of morons with more money than driving sense there. I will be over there in a month and I hope to meet some of my fellow 1M owners. Keep your cars safe guys!

Yes, obviously a lack of control and most definitely being macho around town by having DSC off or at the very least in MDM. DSC is so good at intervening that power oversteer while accelerating from a low velocity is almost impossible, unless there is ice, which there obviously isn't, or the tyres are bald, which is unlikely.

From the footage prior to the mishap, it does not seem to me that the guy was driving recklessly. Just normal, but in the wet. Highly likely that all nannies (DSC) were switched off, which he will regret.
Drives over a bump just before the bridge (01:04), 1M snaps and spins out of control. Quite disturbing to see that it all happens so darn easily and in the blink of an eye.

Wait... I saw the one was driven by a women though... Forgive me... Had to say something because I am from Hong Kong!

Am I missing something here?! I don't understand the negative comments...he seems to be driving with the flow of traffic, he's not switching lanes or speeding irresponsibly, it seems like he simply spun out of control - as others mentioned, possibly due to the nannies being off.

OK, I am trying to figure it out, he was with a very decent speed, didn't seem to be accelerating before the spin. Even my 1990s stupid spins with the 318ti with no traction control etc. was not this unforced! Either this driver was a real moron doing something we don't/can't know or he is under the influence of some drugs which is basically the same thing, or my only guess is DCS fully off plus very very wrong tire pressures.

You can't lose control like that when DSC is off and you're simply flowing with traffic... I think he intentially tried to powerslide through corner, which explains why he stepped on the brake pedal so late.

Simple...Nannies off + wet + sudden acceleration at a curve = Crash!
Some people should only be allowed to walk.

He guns it just as he passes under the overpass and he sees that the right lane is wide open. Just look for the body lurch. It occurs in a split-second but it's there.

seems like the DSC was switched off completely and accelerated too hard in the corner... it doesn't take much power to oversteer... second gear at about 30 - 40 km/h would get it to spin... especially with the wet roads...

MDM is absolutely amazing when it's slick and responds to changes in traction and vehicle attitude FAR faster than I ever could.

DSC off or in MDM. Steering slightly to the left, applies too much throttle too quickly - hence the momentary rear end wiggle, M diff kicks in and sends power to outside rear wheel, presto, oversteers anticlockwise and ploughs into traffic. Simples.

I doubt this could happen at that speed with MDM, my bet is DSC off.
