First Autocross [video]
Put 2k miles on my 135i and thought I'd hid up a small autocross event. I took my little Flip video recorder and recorded the whole thing from the back window. I've edited some of the highlights and thought I'd share with you guys.
This is my very first autocross EVER, so be kind. The car performed wonderfully and made up for my noobish-ness many times. I had DTC on for the first couple runs, and then took it off. WOW. What a difference. I guess I just never really realized how many times the engine power was being cut. Noob mistakes: Not taking the spare wheel out. Arriving with a full tank of gas. DUH. Anyways, if you have any tips for me, have at it. I think I need to keep my hands on the wheel more and take the wide turns a bit wider so I can come out of them with more speed. Throughout the day people were getting and average of about 44 seconds on the course. (If you were there, correct me if I'm wrong). The larger, heavier cars were hitting in the high 40's to low 50's. The teeny, awesome Miata's were hitting in the low 40's and a few cars were able get a touch below 40s by the end of the day. Anyway, here it is:

Looks like you had a good time! That is one of the smallest autocross tracks I've ever seen. You should come up to Marina sometime.

nice runs for the first time...as you get more seat time you will definitely shave even more time off...when I did my first run I didnt so well. then again its my first rwd car and turbo on top of that. I ditched the runflats and got some wider fronts and rears and the car grips much better so I curious to see how I fare with the new combination.
