loosing power when shifting gears???
Hey, hope you guys can help figure out whats going on with my car. I'm loosing power, when my car switches from 1rst to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3, strangely only that. when hitting the gas as it switches it looses thrust for a split second then comes back on. I recently installed the jb4 stage 2 about 3 weeks ago didn't have a problem until now its as if maybe the chip was glitching or something but i turned it off and its still doing it... any ideas?

More power = more wheel spin = DSC killing your fun.
Maybe your spinning the rear tires and seeing the yellow DSC light activate? When the light comes on the DSC ecu will first brake that spinning wheel... but if that wheel still spins, the ecu will start to cut engine power. I think this is your "problem". |

I had a similar problem yesterday when I fast shifted from 3rd to 4th at high RPM's. It basically seemed like it stalled for about half to full second. Similar to how traction control kicking in would but I had DTC off.

Sounds like really high IATs/heatsoak.
The hotter the air the longer it takes to spool because the oxygen density is lower. But autos shouldn't loose boost on the shift anyway.... Although there is a torque reduction logic programmed in to make the shifts less harsh. Maybe there is some adaptation to reset? |

Cross posting to my thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1252277 Turns out it was my 60 amp fuse in location #92 was blown which caused my issues as similar to this thread. I hope this helps anyone in the future who comes across a similar issue as ours. Radiator fan now works when activated via the autologic program they use at shops and the unusually low power (in all gears) is gone. Lesson here is to check fuses if you are stumped. It could be the cause of your issue all along. |

Tuned 6MT cars are susceptible to shift bog thanks to really sensitive knock detection on N54 engines.
Not the case for the OP, but thought I would share.
