Wrong. Just picked up my car from BMW and I asked my SA if I get a 24 month parts warranty on the new injectors and he said NO. There is absolutely no warranty on a camp job cause BMW pays for the replacement parts not the customer. So I said can you double check on that and he said no need, no warranty on the injectors at all.

I need to find out more about these if they're only $107!
Here is a couple of options.

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...&siteid=214672 Just put in the part number and it will come up to $107.73

Don't think so mate. I have had my SA confirm to me that all work done is covered by warranty whether you paid for it or not. I have had to claim this in the past and there were no questions asked. I have had several senior SA tell me this.

It makes no sense whatsoever that they will not cover work paid for by warranty as it is work that was still paid for.

Looks to me like your SA knows diddly squat.

Its a new part, of course its covered by warranty. They'd have a hard time arguing wise if you have an issue with them. I wouldn't worry about it until (or if) it happens.

Thanks, that's a bargain compared to what the dealers are charging. I know I'll need to pick up a few of these after warranty. The injector problem seems to affect most N54s.

There really is no need to check because your SA is full of shit.

Seems my SA was full of shit. Called BMW Australia and they confirmed that there is a 24 months parts warranty on the new injectors. So I decided to call him and blast the fucker cause he was so persistent in trying to convince me that there was no warranty yesterday when I picked up my car.
As far as performance goes definitely no difference but it did fix my bad injector ticking noise.

I can't even begin to explain how good it felt. Extremely satisfying indeed.

Moral of story? Forum members on here as a whole tend to know more than their service advisors.

Having had the 3 injectors replaced, my butt dyno is telling me that the power is back! I am able to break traction in 3rd gear again.

I only got to drive the car on Thursday on my way home from the dealer and I like some others, found a definite increase in power.

I'm not really sure to be honest Joe. Maybe it is a little better but it was going extremely well before also. Probably cause of the meth.

No's 1,2,3 and 6 were replaced on mine today. Haven't noticed any difference really, but I haven't driven it for three weeks so that wouldn't be helping either.

mine's booked in for a few weeks time, will report back..

I also think I've got the wastegate rattle happening... only happens occasionally, most noticeable in carparks, I'll accelerate then coast and as the revs die down there's a ticking, then at idle it's not there, only under deceleration... is that the 'wastegate rattle' issue?

- had 4 injectors replaced
- nothing replaced with regards to the wastegate rattle, i showed them a vid with sound but they couldn't emulate it so apparently couldn't do anything with it
- also updated my battery so it charges itself more often now
- one headlight 'ignitor' was out so that was replaced under warranty

pretty happy overall

I was told by AC they didn't have any injectors left a week ago and it will take a month for new ones to arrive. Are you sure it's replaced?

AC just called me they said they need to keep the car another day. Replacing 3 of my fuel injectors, upgraded the software and they replacing the passenger door sill and glovebox ( complained about the cabin creaking ).

Not sure why they told you that Johnny!
