installed ER charge pipe but ran into an issue need everyones opinion

while i was installing the charged pipe the the rubber round peice that goes in the screw that secures the charge pipe fell into my intake tube that goes down to the turbo so i finished installing my ER charge pipe with my HKS BOV and started up the car and drove it all day WOT twisty roads and everything is running fine now I'm guessing it didn't go don the tube? got stuck somewhere in the tube? should i worry?

Don't drive until you remove it. If you are lucky, it hasn't had a date with the compressor wheel yet.

The front inlet is much easier to pull than the rear inlet, so you are lucky in that sense.

Whats done is done by now. My buddy blew his 35r from sucking in a vacuum line a few years back. He knew instantly though so you may be alright.

you could use a magnet extension tool to get it out if its in the area you think it is.

Holy hell. If it fell down there and by some miracle got stuck you're the luckiest person ever, take everything apart and get it out of there/ make sure its not there. If it is still there and comes lose it will first destroy the turbo, then get sucked into the motor and destroy the block and the head. Just my opinion but I wouldn't risk 15 grand on an easily avoidable situation.

DO NOT DRIVE the car till you find that missing grommet. Are you 100% you dropped it down the tube. If you can't find it in the inlet tube check the hot side of the Intercooler to see if it was shredded and sent through the turbo. If you still can't find it look in the undertray and around the ledges under the charge tube.

It's probably long gone if he's been driving all day. Either one he got super lucky and didn't kill the turbo. Or two the turbo is damaged and only time will tell when complete failure happens

ok guys I got a snake camera with LED light and put it down the tube at least 4 times just to make sure and i didnt find anything the snake camera
went all the way down to the turbo fins
and I didn't see anything. I really don't know what to say I could of sworn that I saw it fall in there maybe it shredded and them melted?

If you are facing the motor from the front of the engine bay, the hot side would be on your left. It’s the intercooler inlet you’d want to check. If you have inspected the turbo inlet, either it didn’t fall in there, or it has passed through the turbo. If it’s the latter, it’s very likely shredded and or melted on your charge tract. Very unlikely it would be able to pass through the intercooler core and even then it would need to be sucked up into the throttle body. Regardless, I would proceed very carefully here.

Start with pulling the intercooler and seeing if you can find it on the hot side. If it fell down the turbo inlet, it probably is hanging out in the intercooler end tank in about a hundred pieces. Or possibly melted.

I would start by look under the car to see if it feel all the way through the bay and not down the tube. You will need to take the under panels off the car.

Unless you actually saw it go down the tube that is.

Check your intercooler or the ic piping on your passenger side (if you are lhd). If it really dropped in there the farthest it could go is the passenger side end tank to the intercooler because the grommet is too big to pass through the small tubes in the ic.

Yea but didn't the grommet get shredded from the turbo? and then the scrapes in the intercooler

Taking the bumper off takes 20 minutes and is not difficult. Could you rig a vacuum cleaner up to suck it out?

This is funny. My favorite part is " If it is still there and comes lose it will first destroy the turbo, then get sucked into the motor and destroy the block and the head."
